Went for breakfast at the pig and pickle in Kingswinford didn't book up just walked in only myself and my wife they managed to find us a table. Inside is nice and clean, staff were polite and friendly the guy that worked the coffee machine I think he was the manager or the owner was rushing around making himself very busy. Was given the menu and the first thing you notice is the prices, this is not a cheap coffee shop / eatery. Ordered the food and my wife had the little english breakfast and I had a cheese toastie 2 coffees 1 medium americano and 1 large latte, the bill for this was £22.80 yes you've read it right £22.80. Food is cooked fresh to order food turned up it looked very nice I had a big side salad with my toastie which to me personally is just a plate filler and consisted of lettuce and cucumber and a small cherry tomato cut into four. The wife said her breakfast was ok she swapped some things like no sausage and egg had extra mushrooms and bacon which they were happy to do. In all it's not a bad place it's just the prices, I can't believe I paid £22.80 for the food we had, the price is very high considering we were in Kingswinford High Street, but that was my choice I had the food and paid the price. Would I go back I'd go back at the drop of a hat if it was half that price because to me personally that's what it was worth. I've had far better food cheaper and worse food a lot dearer. It's all down to personal choice.

The wife had been before but this was a first time for our daughter, granddaughter and I. It was a birthday treat for our daughter, and chosen by the wife as she really enjoyed her previous visit. It's building a name for itself and such is its popularity that it is not an easy place to get into. I would strongly suggest booking, and also well in advance. Despite being more or less full, the service is very friendly and the meals arrived promptly which tells you that it is a well oiled machine. I, nor anyone else could fault what we had, although I am sure there must be some precooking it didn't show. A Wetherspoons it is not. The little breakfast is around £10 but was larger than expected, this and the quality of ingredients made it good value for money. Note the large breakfast lives up to its name. There is a lot more to here than breakfasts and coffee, there are many other tempting choices and some flexibility so choosing can take time. This also includes the children's menu. The only thing I would have liked is a slightly larger table.

I went with my MIL on the Friday after New Year at around 10:30am, they were super busy but gave us the option to wait or come back later. We didn't mind waiting (couldn't give an ETA, we'll book in future!) and one of the ladies seated us at a reserved table for a (until they arrived for their booking). As soon as two seats were available we were seated (about 40 mins - worth the wait!), we knew what we wanted so our waitress took the order straight away. Drinks came over first, perfectly presented and really yummy! Food wasn't long after and I was pleasently surprised by how much halloumi they serve, 4 pieces! (I usually find you get two whenever a dish with halloumi is served anywhere else) all the other items were cooked perfect with a fair portion. My MIL had the little English breakfast and she enjoyed hers too. We both requested without beans and this was accomidated without question. It was a busy but nice atmosphere, will certainly be returning.

Arrived just after 10am to be greeted by staff and asked what we wanted, advised a table for 2 for food and a drink, was told there would be a short wait which is fine we were happy to wait. We’re advised that we can sit in the corner and eat on a chair but there is no table there or wait for table. We advised we would need a table as I am pregnant and it’s not suitable in current condition and we will be seated asap. Offered a drink and look at the menus while we waited.. two people waiting ahead of us. The two ahead were seated and served food and drink. Some time now had passed and at 11am two people walked in off the street and were seated, at a table and had food and drink order taken straight away. I asked a member of staff to confirm that this had just happened, to which they advised they would go and check. 10 minutes later someone else came over and asked if everything was ok? I advised I wanted to know if the two people had come in and been seated and had order taken as a walk in, to which I was told yes. I explained we had now been waiting over a hour and was told we were next to be seated and now someone else had the only available table and that we only had a limited time left to be available. We were offered to sit and eat at the chair we were in which I again advised its practical as I’m pregnant and then was told we can continue to wait but now can’t say how long it would be or if when seated we can order straight away or what the wait time for food is. We were told that staff didn’t know we wanted a table to eat or food. Even though we had been provided the food menus by the same staff member who made that comment. We advised we can’t wait any longer and we will have to go. To which no inconvenience amendment was offered and we were given the bill.

Real shame as I love this place normally and never had any issues before now.

But there needs to be a clearer system for walk ins / waiting to be seated area...

Highly rated and recommended cafe, my partner has visited a couple of times to positive experiences. We booked 4 weeks in advance to ensure we had a table.

Arrived a couple of minutes after our time slot and quickly seated. Plenty of time given to browse the menu and table service from staff.

We ordered, and food arrived within 20/25 mins, and drinks were with us 10 mins prior to that.

I ordered the bacon and pancakes stack, but unfortunately, from the first mouthful, something tasted off with the bacon, thick smoked bacon tasted more like pork, it was under cooked imo so i pushed it to one side and attempted to eat pancakes with maple syrup. Again, pancakes were under cooked, i ate the first pancake, thinking it was under done. As i cut into the other pancakes, i could see the raw batter inside.

I stopped eating and was immediately put off eating any more food. In a short period, a staff member came to check on our food, and i told her my pancakes weren't edible. She took it away from the table and apologised. She later returned and asked if I'd like something else to eat, but by that point, i hadn't got an appetite.

I presume it was the manageress who next came to the game. She suggested the pancakes were stodgy because of the syrup, but i think this was disingenuous because they provided approx. 50ml of Syrup for 3 large pancakes. I know what raw pancakes batter looks like. Later on that morning, i felt bloated and unwell. I didn't eat again for a number of hours.

In all fairness, they took the pancakes off the bill. My wife and daughter's meal were perfectly fine, and they both enjoyed their food. Drinks...
