Omg delicious! Saw reviews and came to eat and not disappointed. Ordered pork belly. Then saw others' fish and chips (massive portions) and thought I'd made a mistake. The pork belly came and it was superb! Accompanied by perfect dauphinoise potatoes and a variety of perfectly cooked crunchy veg in red wine gravy. Best meal out I've had in a long time. Kids meals were great value and the wife enjoyed her stuffed chicken. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked fab! Reasonable prices for the area too. Think we may be back whilst we're down here... UPDATE... We did go back... I'd left the review on the first visit before using the toilets. My wife said one of the ladies' doors wouldn't lock. The gents had two cubicles, one didn't lock and the other had a faulty lock but you could get it to lock. Upon the second visit, they had no available wine glasses upon arrival (they seem to stock pile dirty glasses at the end of the bar rather than fill the washer asap). Then to the toilets... now the second of the gents cubicles no longer locked! For these points, I've dropped a star. HOWEVER... The food was again superb! And the lad who served our table (same lad both visits) couldn't be more friendly or helpful. It's almost perfect... Just little details (like being able to take a visit on the throne in private and having glasses ready to serve wine) really!! 😬 Bottom line - would the little issues put me off going for a third time? Not a flipping chance! The food is...

I have been meaning to visit the Malt house for a while now as many of my holiday guests have enquired as to what the food is like So I visited with my family And sadly I would definitely be telling my guests to avoid at all costs I ordered the hunters chicken and it comes with peas, but I asked for a side salad instead but they brought it out with peas The side salad I had asked for took ages to come out I was half way through my meal when it did The chicken was chewy hardly any bbq sauce or cheese and the chunky chips were not 100% cooked and tasted like powder in your mouth The kids meals all came out with beans We were not asked if we wanted beans or given the option to maybe have peas or salad or even on its own 2 of children hated beans so the food on there plate that had bean in the sauce in they could not eat, they were so hungry we decided to not change the meals but to be honest they did not touch the powder chips either, So just had one sausage each and some of my side salad My youngest daughter choose spaghetti bolognaise we asked for some cheese on top When it arrived it was a tiny portion and about 3 or 4 bits of grated cheese that cost an extra £1.50 So her meal that ended up costing £7.95 Took her about 4 bites to eat and left her still so hungry I had to go to the chip shop afterwards we will never be returning and will definitely not be recommending...

Really bad experience. We went hoping to have a traditional Sunday roast dinner. Went inside and were told to find a table and someone would come take our order. We sat for about a half an hour and no one came so we finally went in to put in an order and were told the roast dinner had run out. We then waited forever for our dinner to arrive, after we finally got our order in. When the waiter brought one of us the wrong order he insisted it was correct -- things had already been weird enough so we just went along with it. Turns out the incorrect entre was for a neighboring table of locals -- the staff bent over backwards apologizing to those people for the wrong order and gave them free drinks, while we barely got an apology. Not sure what the problem was, if we'd done something to unknowingly offend or if they just didn't like outsiders -- but no matter what, it was completely rude and unprofessional. Food was fine, not...

Nice, friendly place. Good value Sunday roast, even if portion size a little on the smaller side. Child friendly, not a long wait for food. Booking recommend. Slightly unwilling/ unhelpful staff member when asked to change a tenner (little did they know it was for a tip...)

Looks a lovely pub from the outside and the same can be said about inside too. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. For a 3 course meal and drinks the price was good too. I'll definitely return in the future next time I'm around that way.

Friendly pub and restaurant. Clean, wooden tables, and olden photos on the wall. Cozy corner tables. Friendly staff members. Fresh food - fish and chips, and Sunday roast dinner. Local ice cream for pudding. Clean toilets. Good for family - plenty of space for strollers
