Alton Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in East Hampshire

After losing the River Kwai Restaurant, I was really looking forward to dining in the Alton Thai Cuisine. Unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience! My wife and I went there with my son and his wife. We arrived at 7.30, we waited until 7.45 before we were asked what we would like (no drinks order had been taken) we ordered our food and drinks then waited a further 10 minutes before drinks turned up and then another 15 minutes (now 8.10pm) until the starters arrived. We ate the starters and were chatting and at 9pm, we noticed that 2 other tables who had come in after us were now onto their main course yet ours had not arrived. We questioned why and were palmed off with feeble excuses, one excuse being "it was because we ordered starters!" At 9.10 we were no closer to receiving our food so opted to pay for what we had consumed. The bill arrived with a 10% service charge!!!!!! We deducted the service charge paid and went to leave and noticed another table who were not in when we arrived were also on their main course. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Alton Thai Cuisine, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, inviting atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home.

The menu offered a delightful array of traditional Thai dishes, each more tempting than the last. We had a variety of starters to try and all where delicious and bursting with flavour.

Main courses were perfectly cooked, and the combination of sweet, savoury, and tangy flavours was simply divine. The portion are generous and cooked to perfection.

The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience.
