First visit to Petersfield Gail's, underwhelming and overpriced! Go to anywhere else instead. We had Flat white and cappuccino, plus Sausage Roll and Spinach Feta pastry. Order placed and they bring items to table. Unfortunately served from a wet tray with dirty cutlery and soggy napkins. Flat white served in what looks like a sugar bowl, no handle ...why? Returned requesting mug with appropriate handle and cleaner cutlery! Food tepid, if you are lucky enough to arrive as items exit the oven well done, otherwise it's pot luck how long they have sat on display. As other reviewers note they wont heat anything. Go to Greggs it's not far.
Be careful where you choose to sit as you may find you are sat next to complimentary water jugs and constantly jostled as parched customers partake of the two jugs of water, not covered and open to be tampered with , do you trust water that is left unattended next to random customers....Good luck with that, you may wake up naked with a daffodil inserted somewhere surprising š® Health n safety or good hygiene should discourage this just ask for water with your order must be safer and less risky and bloody annoying way to provide water.
I'm off to buy some daffodils, bon chance any future...
Read moreWow, 2 bottles of soft drink, 2 small quiche, 2 salmon bagels and a soup cost me £43.00. It would not be so bad but the bagels were tough, the salmon was OK, soup was OK bar the rosemary bread was dry, drinks were average, I agree with other reviews in that our table was dirty, dirt on the floor and someone needs to mop round the plant pot. I was offput on my lunch when I saw a fly leave one of the other offerings at the counter. Overall you can buy a better lunch from across the road.
Oh, and perhaps if the staff spend less time hugging each other the service would improve. (Girl who served me was polite).
Edit, having now read hundreds of reviews of the Gail's franchise im shocked how poor it is. Personally I feel East Hants Council need to pull these people up on the fact they have a prized location in the center of town that offers such a poor service and level of hygiene and may I add at a extremely high...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my mum for coffee & cake. Mum ordered a small latte with an almond croissant & I had tea with an almond croissant. It cost Ā£16! The tea was fine but mum was very disappointed with her coffee. It was probably the smallest latte Iāve ever seen served in what looked like a sugar bowl ⦠no handle to the cup & with no saucer. So had the coffee been hot, which it was not, then my mum wouldnāt have been able to pick it up. The coffee itself was mainly froth & a huge disappointment for her. The croissant looked like it had been over baked & was more or less tasteless. There had clearly been people with children at the table before us & the floor was littered with lumps of bagel/muffin & the table was dirty. A very pleasant young man cleared it when I spoke to him & he was most definitely the highlight of our visit. So 10/10 for him šš Sorry to say we will not...
