Hertford Coffee Lab — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

1st time visit and sadly last time. Made the visit specially because coffee Labs roast their own coffee not too far from the shop. So this is a great place to look for new coffee roasted write on your doorstep. Me and my partner are both very much into our coffee and our intentions to visit was not just a drink coffee but was to buy coffee too. However, when asking the barista who was very friendly without a doubt, he just didn't have much knowledge of the coffee for sale other than the signature coffee blend 29! 1 coffee out of 11 sold. Anyways my thoughts on blend 29. Not all coffee is going to suit everyone's taste and for me blend 29 just didn't do it for me. To start off the look and texture of the coffee and it's crema wasn't too bad at all. But when coming to drink the coffee there was definitely a level of bitterness not something I would have thought I would find in a signature coffee. My thoughts were maybe the coffee wasn't dialled in correctly and the extraction then wouldn't be perfect. Bit that wasn't the case. I also found after every mouthful I was left with a taste of musk. What do I mean by musk. When you go into a room which is damp and you can smell and taste the air - musk. With regards to the location and inside coffee shop - cafe. It's easy to find and it's a great location right in the heart of the town but the shop itself I found to be dirty on the inside and that also included the toilets. Whilst I didn't eat there the presentation of the pastries and cakes available...

Would love to say this was a great experience but it wasn't. Ordered two coffees for myself and my boyfriend which both arrived luke warm at best. Also ordered a croissant with ham and cheese which somehow arrived with no ham despite all the croissants at the counter appearing to contain both ham and cheese and the waiter stating it was ham and cheese when putting the food on the table. The food was also burnt on most sides. Asked for two tap waters with our order which also never arrived. Looks lovely on the inside and staff are friendly but for us the food and drinks weren't up to scratch. Would opt for another coffee shop in...

Currently sat in the store. Vibes are immaculate and the other customers are friendly - which alone is the perfect review for a business in my opinion. Not only does it attract lovely people, but here they provide brilliant coffee without the pricetag that one would expect from an indie coffee shop. I also got a side of Cannoli - which just happens to be my favourite dessert and not served nearly enough at other places - and it was divine. Super happy with my experience here and I'm sure me and my fiancé will be back.
