Hope Cafe & Restaurant — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

In the current climate not much regard for Covid 19 safety. Face masks strapped around chin for all staff. No one checking in via NHS app posters. No hand washing going on very poor social distancing. No mask or check-in enforcement. This establishment is operating a cash only system but there are no signs to say this as you go in to the cafe or at the till where you pay. I had to walk to nearest bank to get cash so I could pay. Given its cash only counter staff not washing hands between taking cash and serving or handling food. Staff engaging customers with masks dropped off of face. Everyone I saw coming in to the cafe did not wear a mask and no staff asking them to wear one on. I felt very uncomfortable. Would not go there again until Covid 19 was clear. This could have been any ordinary day outside of the Covid 19 environment and you would think it was OK but as it is a Covid 19 situation the manager should be challenged about the management of this food establishment by the authorities. I don't feel the food and drink I had was value for money because I felt I would be likely to catch Covid 19 if it were at all present in this...

No Hope for this business, the Hope Cafe & Restaurant. These people do not have a clue how to treat their customers who are essentially paying their wages, keeping the place alive. Rude member of staff today, not sure if he was manager or worker, whatever, very rude, bad service. will not be going back in the Hope cafe & restaurant again, no way, no hope, also the prices are way too expensive and they are ripping customers off. Better places to go than this cafe, they are just out to get your money overcharging you and delivering terrible service. Bad attitude, will ruin your day. Avoid the Hope cafe & Restaurant if you don't want to receive bad treatment and get ripped off. Plus the food and drinks are not all that in the first place. Avoid! Avoid! They use the cheapest beans which one portion costs them 5p and they charge you £6.90 for 'hope1' small breakfast, consisting of all cheap foods, from massive tins. Visited here a few times last year and really enjoyed my time. This was mainly down to the fact that my waitress made me feel very comfortable and overall the experience was enjoyable. My waitress- may I add- was the only hijab wearing member of staff at the time. Came here again a couple months ago to find that she was no longer working there.
