I went in today (Thursday Lunchtime in July) for a family lunch as my daughter is now off for summer holidays. Went in and was a nice vibe - busy with people having drinks. Looking back I now know why. We went to order food and found it was a QR option or Bar option. A QR option for a place charging that amount isnât great - plus if you want to make any amendments, you canât via QR.
We ordered our food at the bar - one of our party had a nut allergy and shared this with the staff at the bar, which then a manager had to take over with - which is absolutely fine. However, when trying to find a manager to take over⌠there was âIâm not doing this, you canâ back and forth between the managers in-front of customers, a very unbothered / couldnât care less / rude attitude which is such a shame.
We sat back down and one of the waiters was very friendly - came over with âsharing platesâ which was a nice touch but every single plate was filthy so had to ask for new ones.
Our drinks came after 15/20mins which in some places isnât too bad but is a long wait for drinks. The Watermelon Iced Tea is so artificial itâs undrinkable.
Our food arrived and it was cold⌠not even tepid hot. Such a shame. We waited 30/45mins for food. We ordered mains & tapas - every element of our food was cold. The waiter asked us how our meal was and we notified him it was cold, which he said he can sort and have more made - which is a nice gesture but when weâve already waited a long time for food, we didnât want to wait even longer for potentially the same result / something to happen to our new food due to the complaint. Chicken was on one of the orders and it was cold, tough, dry, rubbery and inedible.
I think the food is very much âinstagramableâ and picture worthy but thatâs about it, lacks in a lot of flavour and definitely isnât worth the money. I understand tapas is small dishes, but even the main we ordered from the mains portion of the menu / sides were tiny.
Really wanted this to be a nice experience but sadly was not. After reading other reviews (after having visited) I can see this is a constant issue - I hope it is fixed as is an absolutely...
Read moreThis is just not a coffee shop it has more. You can find Quattro Lounge at the newly developed Wharf write along the canal. Only been opened 4 months you would expect everything inside to be looking new which it is. The cafe/restaurant styled in colours of warm reds, browns and burnt orange with wooden tables chairs and soft furnishings including sofas and large cushions. Industrial look with some lighting with Victorian furnishings but it all works very well together. As I said before this is just not a coffee shop. Alcohol is also available along with an extensive menu. This is a child friendly as well as dog friendly Cafe restaurant, so when walking the dog it's easy to nip in for a quick coffee or a pint. Seating available both inside and out and on a sunny day everybody will be sitting outside with large ample space to sit many. So what is the coffee like! Coffee available is a very very smooth blend too smooth for me a little flat in flavour. I would go for a double shot to enhance the flavour. If you're really into your coffee and you're looking for a true barista style coffee experience then this place is definitely not for you. Overall I was very happy with the presentation and how friendly the staff were and how comfortable I felt whilst drinking coffee. I could easily be persuaded to go back and try more what's...
Read moreReally gutted this was such a disappointment. Really wanted it to be nice but such a let down. Iâve rated the atmosphere as 4/5 which hopefully tells you a bit more about my disappointment. How can you have a beautiful setting, tastefully decorated and higher end on prices yet have QR codes to order/go to bar. Whoever thought this would suffice needs a rethink, this is a Hertford eatery, not a Toby carvery. Staff have no chance to build a rapport and struggling to find table numbers (they were pleasant all the same and not their fault)
Whoever owns this, have a good look at it because people generally wonât stand for it and after that sunshine goes and the setting is no longer the most important thing, you will be lost.
Now the foodâŚcold (meant to be warm), tasteless and tiny portions. Between 4 of us one said is was mediocre at best. Even the avocado tasted like it was out of a bottle.
I really want this to be good but rather than look at bottom line, letâs get the public on board first and that starts with proper table service. In my mind you resemble a bowling alley with a QR code and then ask for tips on the app. I feel generally sorry for the poor staff.
Iâm also not the only one saying this as I still visited after hearing this from others. Hopefully things will change and revisit in the near...
