Plaice on the Park — Restaurant in East Lindsey

Probably the worst food I’ve ever had from a chip shop. There were three orders in front of me, so I was expecting a little wait. After watching the least enthusiastic staff I’ve probably ever seen stood there ‘looking busy’ while I was waiting for over 40 minutes, I asked how long the wait was likely to be. I got a ‘no idea’ response: no apology, no explanation. It seemed that there was no system in place to deal with a small flurry of orders, and they all panicked when they had a few.

When the food was finally ready they just shoved a bag in my hand. They had not asked if I wanted any condiments so we were left with tasteless food. We even ordered a burger, which was packed without any sauce or salad as you would normally be asked if you would like them - the Mrs was not impressed.

All this I could’ve excused but once I got home and finally unwrapped the food (less than five mins away) I was left entirely disappointed. The food was cold, greasy and dry (I didn’t even know that was possible). Even my three year old who eats absolutely anything refused to eat his dinner for the first time ever.

Food went in the bin. Wasted £20+.

Ordered for delivery, the food got here in good time, but the paninis ordered had only been in the same room as the grill. The cheese hadn’t even melted, the salad was dry and old, lettuce was wilted and looked as close to decomposition as a week old corpse, the cucumber had shrivelled up like an old man’s todger, the fish still had half the oil that it was cooked in on it, not to mention how bland it was, the best part? I’m fairly certain the paninis had been on the same grill as some fish without even wiping the surfaces between cooking. Frankly, the fact nobody has died over an allergy or food poisoning is surprising to me. I hope others see sense, save their money and take their custom to a place that cares and will have respect for the food they put out....

Visited Plaice in the Park Chapel St Leonard's Skegness a couple weeks ago on friday got to say best fish & chips we've had in years!!. We ordered mini fish & chips with curry sauce and sat eating them outside the shop on seating provided absolutely fabulous !!. Best thing ever all cooked fresh with quality ingredients, good sized portion & crispy batter and a good food hygiene rating. I was so impressed I with that meal, I also took a home made chilly home for my tea and it was just as lovely. Definitely worth visiting, reasonably priced and owners very obliging & helpful too. They also cater for special diets apparently so useful for those gluten free or vegan.

Definitely going back big...
