!!update!! To the gentleman who was slamming down my review, I went in on a certain night that you perhaps didn't go in on. This was my personal experience of the night. Some of the bar staff were lovely but I found some of them quite rude, that's my personal opinion. As I was watching the turn singer she wasn't applauded well and was made to feel quite small. I never said the pub was full of 'drunks' but all I pointed out was that some of the people in the pub were a bit intimidating and rough. Chapel St Leonard is a great place if you want a cheap, tacky holiday.
WARNING! Well I'm going to be honest, my experience was shocking. Really weird atmosphere, I felt uneasy at times. The looks from some of the bar staff were so rude and belittling, I felt pretty worthless. Now there's nothing wrong with getting drunk, I mean I was at a pub for god sake, but I tell you what the state of some of the people in that pub was ridiculous. It's full of weird people if I'm honest.
Want to know the best part of my night? GOING HOME. But even then, the street was pitch black, as a woman I felt UNSAFE AND VULNERABLE!! I will not book a holiday here again, I would rather camp out in a derelict house - would be safer if I do say so myself.
IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, this place ISN'T GOOD and everything said in this...
Read moreI have read a couple of very unpleasant reviews from the last week. It is my opinion that these comments are unfounded & slanderous. We know from personal experience (as caravan owners & respectable people of a certain age) that there are many other respectable people here ( & not a bunch of drunks ). This also includes the staff, Lorraine & Paul of stewarts bar. They are exceptionally friendly & nothing is too much trouble. The kitchen staff cook the food to perfection, the pub is clean & comfortable. My wife & I watch the staff work extremelly hard to achieve this. My wife is disabled & everyone will go out of their way to take care of her. I left my wife here for a few days I could not have left her anywhere safer, thanks to everyone in Stewart's bar ( especially Rich & Jordan) who went above & beyond to take care of the most precious thing in my life.. my wife Lisa. Thank you to Stewart's bar, the security staff & all of the local people who have welcomed us into their lives with open arms. If you visit Chapel st Leonard's, please make a point OF VISITING STEWART'S BAR & leaving an honest review. Thank you for...
