Merryfield caravan 15 (booked via Airbnb)|Having arrived at the site at the time stated we should check in we were greeted by a grumpy lady who proceeded to tell us at least 3 times we were early and that she shouldn't check us in even though i informed her that my email and their own website says different. Eventually she gave us the keys and when we got to the van was shocked to find mud on the carpet and sofa so called reception and they sent a cleaner who just so happened to be another lady who had been at reception who i thought was another guest.|She was lovely and cleared the mud, we went back to the car to get our luggage and saw just how unkempt the surrounding areas looked and that we were so close to the main road but thought "oh well lets make the most of it" when un packing i put some black leggings on a shelf in the wardrobe and was shocked to see them automatically covered in dust so started to look closer at the bedroom to discover more dust and that things just felt old and dirty, again i thought " its ok as only for a weekend" so carried on unpacking when my husband shouted into me that the place is absolutely filthy, and called me to look at the dust on his fingers, it was disgusting but again We decided to forget about it and go out but on returning it just didnt feel comfy or clean so we check further to find so much dust and dirt so i spoke to Airbnb to complainand i couldnt fault them at all. I told them that a supposedly gold caravan was far from gold standard. I told him it may have been gold 5-7 years ago but definitely not now. The caravan is in a poor position right on main road that has double decker busses going by every 5 mins shaking the van to pieces and you can hear every word of everyone's conversation that walks by. the outside areas are unkempt dirty and not maintained, we had broken buckets and rubbish in all the bushes right outside the door and the decking was covered in fag ash.|as for the caravan itself, it was filthy with dust and greasy hand marks, even the cooker had dust on it which we couldn't make out but then discovered it was from the filthy vent in the kitchen ceiling and dust was falling every time a bus went by. every surface felt dirty and even the headboards were dusty. we stayed one night and then checked out early because we had no sleep because the busses didn't stop until midnight and then started at 6am again shaking us about, the beds we so uncomfortable with springs poking us and the mattress was as thin as anything, my poor daughter was in tears at 2am begging to go home, the sheets didn't fit the beds and kept springing off. We were literally exhausted this morning and woke up coughing and itching! We made the decision not to stay any longer. We stripped the beds as we wouldn't have got our deposit back and when doing so found stains including blood on the pillows and duvet, the mattress was yellow from age and it was just so dirty feeling that it was the last straw. I could have cried. Dont ever book to stay here, avoid...
Read moreAbsolutley disgusting service. Booked Gold NON PET for october half term. One of my children has pet allergies and when in van I was pretty convinced there must had been a pet before due to my 6 year old sinuses being off. As I had a baby I didnt want to have havoc of moving and I wasnt sure. Two days before leaving I realised after sitting on the floor with my baby there was dark dog hair on the floor. The bottom of my babys play gym was covered in white and dark coloured dog hair. ||When I asked cleaner who came to check we left van clean for our £50 cash deposit refund, if this used to be a pet friendly I was shocked at the reply. |She said it is a pet friendly gold and was quick to blame Ho Seasons and told me I should had stated it at booking. Anyone whose booked Hoseasons would know you either tick pet friendly or you dont. Ho Seasons do not offer a pet friendly on this site. ||Not to mention I never deemed it a gold anyway. People dont realise when booking this van what you have to do. |You can only pay deposit in Cash not card! The reception open times very very poor. Asvertise shop, chippy on site. Me and my family stayed multiple of times Ive never once seem them open. They make the play park sound amazing. Overflowing dirty bin and very outdated. ||They give you one black bin bag. It is your job to empty all the beds put in bag and leave by door. Empty bins/ That also includes your outdoor bin and place in the commerical bins which are miles from the van. Oh and clean it. So cleaners dont do anything and I know that as found cakes from morrisons under bed. ||Didnt provide club passes for other site with swimming pool (dont worry its awful anyway) ||Oh and the bed you can feel the springs poking in your back. I never expect caravans to be perfect but seriously these was awful. Even my boys complained...
Read moreAt the beginning we were happy. Great location if a bit old and run down. I was a bit disappointed that the site was small and packed as many caravans in as they could. However no problems with noise. The caravan was nice and modern with nice facilities. The bathroom a bit rusty which is unusual for Hoseasons vans .||||No extra bedding was provided for the sofa bed even though they knew we would use it.||||They asked for a cash deposit which I found suspicious and knew we'd never get back.||||Upon our departure we cleaned and tidied the best we could without cleaning equipment, just a mop, brush and shovel . We stripped the beds as asked to do and put the bins out mopped the floor. (Never had to do this in any other caravan ) Fair enough I thought.||||Next day a rude receptionist rang us to say we left the room filthy and they wouldn't return our deposit. ||||The room was a little messy which is understandable having no cleaning equipment and 4 kids which they knew about and surely that's why they hire a cleaner. Apparently the "professional" cleaners took 1 hour to clean up even though we already did most of the work stripping beds and taking out the rubbish. (Think I would get sacked taking that long to hoover ,clean a microwave, bedrooms and bathroom.)||||Always had to go to the pub to talk to any staff who were never there and always had to wait to arrive.||||Got told to ring the manager which the receptionist never gave the number to make a complaint. The Hoseasons customer care lady was lovely but we both couldn't contact the manager as the Google number conveniently no longer exists.||||An absolutely awful experience but I won't be out off Hoseasons. And the people of Chapel St Leonard's village were lovely...
