We have tried a couple of times to get booked in but we have always left it to last minute and they could not accommodate us which is fair enough, however we did manage to get a table booked for Saturday 12th July. I have to say we were really looking forward to trying this place. When we arrived inside looked nice and we was greeted by a friendly dark haired young waitress that explained we was early and there would be a wait for the table, so we grabbed some drinks and waited until our table was ready which was only about 10 minutes or so. Unfortunately this was the best part of the evening as for the next 1.5hrs it just went down hill.
We had been seated for 5 minutes or so and were all looking through the menu when the waitress returned and explained that there was no beef ribs, no pork or baby ribs, no ribeyes and only 2 sirloins left, this was very disappointing as we were looking forward to choosing one of there platters but this now ment there was no option for the platters at all. After 5 minutes or so another waitress turned up asking if we were ready and we did explain our disappointment regarding the situation to which she shrugged and said "I just bring food out", this was also the same waitress that said that the Buffalo sauce tasted like Cillit Bang. Anyway we placed our order (which was very hard work) sat chatting whilst we waited for our food. Our order was sirloin steak with side of Mac n Cheese, my partner had the chilli dog and our friends had 2x southern fried chicken burger and the other had the loaded fries, Mac n cheese and 2 sides of the smoked chicken wings. The waitress then returned to say they had no chicken wings to which we said this was pretty poor and again all we got was "I just bring out food"
After waiting over 30 minutes our food started to arrive but delayed between meals. My steak was first and to be fair it looked pretty good, however my mac and cheese was lukewarm at best and my onion ring was stone cold, our friend's mac n cheese was also lukewarm. Some of us had to start eating as the food was getting cold and they had totally forgotten one of the the chicken burgers so our poor friend had to sit and watch us eat and almost finish before his arrived. It was delivered by a young lad that was wearing trainers and shorts (Possibly the chef or kitchen staff but he had no hat on nor was he in clean workwear Anyway the food was bland at best and the majority was not eaten. Please note there was not a single thing on the table that was Smoked or BBQ if fact there seemed to be a lot that was microwaved warm i.e the mac N cheese, the loaded chips and the topping on the chilly dog.
The waitress then came over and started to take plates away whilst our friend was still eating (our friend who had to wait for his meal) to which we had to point out that people were eating there food and she did politely smile and walked away. Throughout our meal no one came over to see if everything was ok, if we need anymore drinks nor was we offered to see the dessert menu. It was time to leave and put an end to this not so enjoyable evening so we got up paid and left. And again we was not asked how everything was THE END or so we thought.
The next day my partner at around midday was doubled over in agony with stomach cramps and abdominal pains and could not leave the bath room area, it is not 15.40 the day after her pains started and she is feeling better after a rough night but still in a lot of discomfort.
Needless to say we won't be going back
I am sure the owners will respond saying this is lies or something along those lines but this is the first review I have...

My partner and I arrived at The Wild Goose and were promptly shown to our table by a very polite and welcoming young lady, who also took our drinks order — a promising start.
Unfortunately, things began to unravel shortly after. Our food order was taken by a different waitress who was loud and overly familiar. While some diners may enjoy that style of service, we prefer a more professional approach and found it off-putting.
When our meals were brought out, mine arrived first. I waited for my partner’s to arrive so we could eat together, but after five minutes — during which we saw other tables receiving their food — we realised something was amiss. I eventually started eating as my meal was going cold.
When my partner’s food finally did arrive, it was covered in sweet chilli sauce, despite us clearly asking for the sauce to be served separately. The waitress admitted she’d picked up the wrong dish and took it back to the kitchen.
Another ten minutes passed before the corrected meal returned — by which point I had finished eating. It was clear the dish had not been remade properly; instead, the sauce had simply been washed off and the food reheated. Traces of the original sauce remained, and the meal was barely warm. Frustrated but not wanting to prolong the wait further, my partner just ate it as it was.
After we finished, our table was cleared and we waited patiently for a dessert menu. Sadly, after sitting there for another 30 minutes without being approached, we gave up, paid our bill, and left.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Poor coordination between staff, long waits, and food service issues left us feeling let down. Unfortunately, we won’t...
Read moreReally disappointed. Visited for my mums 60th birthday today as she had chosen to try here with it being relatively new. My husband returned his chicken wings to the kitchen as they were almost raw with blood / pink meat. Challenged by the chef at our table (twice) who said they had been smoked for 10 hours. Suggested he had forgotten to switch the smoker on in that case. My mum, on her birthday, had to spent time arguing over what raw chicken looks like (my mum I will point out has owned food establishments for decades) she had to point out it was extremely dangerous. The chef was having none of it, but did reluctantly apologise in the end. Other diners also reported undercooked and pink chicken. The lady at the bar seemed almost embarrassed by the whole situation and kept apologising. The other food, in my own opinion, was mediocre and overpriced for what it was. We gave up eating on discovering the chicken saga! Tried not to make a fuss to be honest with it being my mums special birthday. Granted they did knock off the cost of the raw chicken wings from my bill and gave a little discount. Good job it was cold or my hubby wouldn’t have known until he had eaten more and likely been very unwell. Would most certainly not return. The place also needs a clean IMO! #disappointed and judging by other reviews I half expect a crappy reply telling me I’m...
