The Mirage is always our go to place for fun when it comes to Arcades. We have been here alot of different times since Family have moved to the town and spend £100s in there with pleasure. This time however, they have new floor staff. 2 young guys (one with glasses) whom will move back prizes when they get stuck in the 2p machines. To the point we called them out jokingly and then he came back and gave us 300 free tickets someone had left. Not a major problem but don't be Sooo blatent and people may come back. We will be back as I found it funny but others may not especially when it costs people more money to carry on. Anyway, the place itself.. Toilets are very clean, easy access for wheelchair users, friend9staff though they aren't ever around when you need them and end up waiting for one to appear for 10 minutes average. Overall though, a good bit of fun for the family. I gave a 10 before but since the new staff being so blatent its actually CHEEKY, 7/10
Edited - We have popped back in and the 2p machines are now an absolute sham. They are using very heavy items with less 2ps in the machine. We now go over the road as its...
Read moreThe acarde itself is good and has all the family needs, the only thing I hate is the staff walk around the 2p machines like vultures, open the cabinets up and keep sliding the prizes back so people have to literally stay on one machine and put a lot of money in to win something.... If they were to walk around and do it every now and then that would be fair enough but the staff are continuously walking around doing it.. My mum was on holiday with me and was working on a prize but went to get some 2ps and then spoke to me on another machine for a min. We watched the worker open the 2p cabinet and slide the pink toy back my mother was trying to win for my daughter. I was just about to make the dude get the prize out free of charge for such a ridiculous act but my mother said leave it and we choose to leave not spending another penny in the hole... The arcades over the road is much more family friendly with a really nice lady looking after machines willing to help if any issue and not ripping people off os a far better choice.... Avoid this arcades their practice is...
Read moreA well appointed amusement arcade with a full size bowling alley with a dining area serving food, deserts and drinks, and you don't need too many tickets for a basic prize. And you can either use cash or buy credit tokens if you don't want the kids walking round with cash. Plenty of change machines too, even contactless ones.
It has some quite rare video games and machines. I have never seen Luigi's Mansion arcade version before, I wish it had a version of Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune, but I know that is very rare in the UK nowadays.
I am ashamed to admit that I didn't check this place out until the last day of my stay in Mablethorpe as I foolishly assumed it would be a small arcade with only old and boring machines. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that this place is actually better than some of the Skegness arcades.
I think you can also park for free outside on the single yellow line loading only bays after 7pm or the disabled bays after 6pm, double check yourself but that's how I understood the...
