Subway — Restaurant in East Staffordshire

I arranged all my families dinner, me and my partner wanted a Chinese and the kids decided on subway sandwiches, they all have the footlong meals with the drink and crisps and usually a cookie to go with it. So I order the Chinese to be picked up at eight o clock and I left my house just before half past seven which gave me time to drive the two miles to the subway, go in and sort the subway out for the kids and be in time to pick up the Chinese at eight o clock. I got to the garage at 7:35 pm on Friday night, there were a few people hanging around the subway area and one person even walked off in disgust, ranting to himself about it being closed early again, sure enough when I looked over, the counter was all closed up, the bread fridge emptied and everything was tidied away, no sign of anyone, I thought maybe he's in the back and will bring the stuff out to make the sandwiches and just wanted to be cleaned up on time so I emt over to the fuel counter to ask, I was stoof behind a lady who was looking impatient. We stood there for a few minutes and I asked if she'd seen a member of staff in the place and she said no, a large group of people started to form behind us (most holding sandwiches sold at the garage) after anothwr five minutes waiting a man started shouting out "helloooooo is anybody in here!" at which point a lady appeared chewing on some food and rudely says "oh I didn't realise so many people were here" which I thought if there was even one person here shouldn't you have your backside at that counter, by this time it's ten to eight. I get tot he counter and say to the lady that the subway is closed up and she said "yes he's packed up and gone" I inform her that it'd supposed to be open till 8 o clock and why has he gone home, she shrugged and said he does that sometimes. I left the place annoyed, I had to ring my partner and try and sort out what the kids wanted instead which turned into a big row as they couldn't decide on one place and the youngest was very upset that she'd been promised a subway and wasn't getting it anymore, they ended up getting burger kimg which was rubbish and overpriced and our Chinese was cold by the time I got it home. During the Christmas period I visited this restaurant to be greeted by a larger than life character, I believe his name was Ryan. Upon arrival I was not welcomed well at all and when ordering my food I felt it very unsatisfactory with the time and lack of care put into my order. It gets to the end of it where I have to pay and I find out that he has charged me for an extra meat in my sub. Now I was under the impression that you got two free meats with your sub, not only one, this wasn’t effectively communicated to me and I was charged an extra 80p for my meat. Was not happy then and still not happy now, I have not found a way to report straight to the store other than through Google Reviews so this is my means of complaint, though I would rather it be through an official website. Shan’t be returning if i see that boy in there again, and not only that i don’t believe he was practicing true sanitary...

I normally love subway, but this is the worst one I've been to.

I have admittedly been a few times as it's the only one within 30 minutes. They are constantly out of ingredients or have long queues mainly because they aren't going quick enough.

The straw that broke the camels back was when I ordered through Uber eats and got a cheaper sandwich then what I ordered. ' you'll have to talk to Uber eats and change it when the other customer complains.' Complains? they got a bargain.

After that I looked back on all the times we've been and honestly I can't think of a time I was happy about going there. Going to the next town over and come back will leave a better taste...
