First time visit at the weekend, I was interested because it was away from the main high street which normally means a better experience. I arrived and heard the words delivered to somebody else being served...'they'll be a bit of a wait for food'...ok, the place didn't look busy so I took a chance. I sat on what was described as a table but turned out to be a wooden plank between two outdoor structures, I needed assurance that it was actually a 'table' before I took my seat. Before my order was taken a bottle of water was delivered to the table which was a good sign.... I ordered my breakfast along with a pot of tea.... Thankfully I didn't have to wait too long but two things happened which pointed towards a stretched service. The first thing was the table next to me they had forgotten to serve them any bacon with their breakfasts 🤷🏻‍♂️... And secondly they forgot to bring my toast. Not a problem, I went into the kitchen just to tell them and got the cook telling me how busy they were before handing me my toast, that had been sitting there waiting to be brought out.... Making me feel bad that I had the cheek to ask 'where was my toast?'... So generally the service and food was good, it wasn't the best breakfast I'd ever had and certainly wasn't the worst.... Was it worth £10, yes it was. I was satisfied with my experience but wouldn't rush back.

My partner and I visited Alde Cafe for breakfast, and it was a delightful experience. This cosy, tucked-away gem offers a homely diner feel that instantly makes you feel welcome. We had their amazing English breakfast, which was made with fresh, local ingredients and cooked to perfection. Coffee was also sensational. The owner was incredibly friendly, adding a personal touch to the whole experience. If you're in Aldeburgh and looking for a warm, inviting spot with great food, Alde Cafe is a must-visit!

Stopped in to get some quick scran and do some paperwork. Service was positive and speedy and it's not often you get some quality banter with the chef, so that was great. I'd say that this fry up is 'Modestly amazing', it doesn't pretend to be artisinal or anything other than a quality, slap up brekkie. Had it with a cup of tea and a dollop of brown sauce (which I was pleasantly suprised to discover was stokes BTW). Just quality stuff from a quality team. Well worth stopping in.

Good but not as great as they perhaps think. The breakfast menu listing is different to most in that you have to have egg on toast and then add extras on top ... rather than a set full english .... you also have to write your own order down using this system then get up and hand it to them. Your eggs and tomatoes are placed on top of the toast on your plate ... having toast on the side doesn't seem to be an option ... though perhaps it may be if you write this down as a request on your order too but if there's four of you things can get complicated and you'd get fed up of with all the writing. You collect your own knives and forks which weren't handle up in the pot so you're fingers may touch all the others as you remove them! Our breakfast were quite good ... scrambled eggs looked great ... but our poached eggs were overcooked with semi hard yolks. Black pudding was very good too ...sausage was a proper one if a little small ... bacon just average. Nice to get a tasty pot of earl grey tea too. They've made the best of an average out of town location with a pleasant rustic al fresco feel to the outside seating ... though we chuckled at the table number markers ... which looked like a 3 year old had scrawled on a scrap wood offcut after stirring a paint pot. It was also quite pricey once you start putting the extras on ...particularly so when you do the waitress service yourselves. It was definitely above average with some nice ingredients ... but you'd expect it to be a cut above for the prices and a location well away from the seafront ...and it wasn't perfect or that amazing. When we went up to pay we were asked if we enjoyed our breakfast ... "yes it was fine" we said ....but after then paying the lady seemed to correct us as we left " I would hope it was a bit better than fine" she said .. nice that she cares ... but it did come across a little condescending ... like a school teacher correcting us for not telling the full truth! Recommended but still room for...

Probably OK for a cup of tea or coffee but the sandwiches we had were fairly unpleasant with original member of serving staff quite rude. When I asked for a few minutes to read the menu she refused and insisted on taking the drinks order. The next member of staff was much better but the food was disappointing (especially for the money).

I had ordered a Coronation Chicken Sourdough sandwich which was actually an open sandwich with a large doorstep of bread. This comprised of huge lumps of chicken with a small quality of rather thin sauce. It didn't taste of very much (certainly not of mild curry) and there was no raisins present. There was salad with no dressing and the whole thing was very dry. My partners prawn maria rose looked quite similar and she didn't like it much either. Certainly not worth £17...
