⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently stayed at The Cross Keys in Aldeburgh, and it was an absolute gem! Nestled right in the heart of this charming seaside town, the hotel offers the perfect blend of coastal character, comfort, and hospitality.
From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine friendliness by the staff. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is relaxed, inviting, and beautifully reflective of Aldeburgh’s coastal charm.
The room was clean, stylish, and thoughtfully decorated with modern touches while still keeping that traditional feel. The bed was super comfortable, and I slept like a dream. The little details—from the quality linens to the well-stocked refreshments—made the stay feel extra special.
Downstairs, the pub and dining area are cosy and full of character. The food was a real highlight—delicious, freshly prepared, and full of local flavour. Whether it was breakfast, dinner, or just a coffee in the morning, everything was served with a smile.
The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the beach, high street shops, and all that Aldeburgh has to offer. It’s the perfect base whether you're exploring the Suffolk coast or just looking for a peaceful getaway.
Overall, Cross Keys is a true coastal retreat. I left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and already planning my next visit. Highly...
Read moreWe visited the Cross Keys tonight, 4th November 2021. The food was just passable (fish pie and fish cakes) and it was extremely hot in the bar area. However, that is not what I am concerned with in this review. We had finished our meal and were finishing off our drinks when there was suddenly a small explosion and a fragment of glass appeared on the table. My partner tried to pick it up and burnt two finger tips as it was exceedingly hot. We then realised that the little glass container on the table which contained a lit candle (tea light?) had got so hot that it had exploded. My partner took the fragment in a serviette to the bar with the rest of the small container and all that the barman said was, "Oh, sorry." There were children at the next table who could have been badly injured if the glass had hit one of them in the eye. We left the pub about 20 minutes later and these lights were still burning on most of the tables. So we asked to speak to the manager as we thought they should all have been removed - it turned out that the original barman WAS the manager - and this time he just said he had been called away. It's now an hour later and my partner's fingertips are so sensitive that he is having to hold them in a glass of cold water. This shows a complete disregard for...
