We always book here when we come on holiday and have never really had any issues but this visit was not great.

Our table was book for after 8pm and only one table came in after us the place didn't seem busy as most tables were empty and covered in dirty plates and glasses.

We ordered drinks and the staff were very polite. Firstly we ordered an expensive wine and the bottle was just plonked in front of us with top on so had to open and pour ourselves. When asked if they open it they said our customer prefer to open their own, ...maybe ask rather than presume!

We ordered food starters and mains. Starters came out and they were nice other than mine was put in front of me, king prawn and Gnocchi starter then taken away again as the waitress noticed it was missing the Gnocchi. All starters were very tasty.

Then it went down hill........ The lady overseeing the pass went home! There were constantly take away pizza's going out the pass all evening that seemed to play president over customers dining.

5 of us dined and 2 of our pizza's were correct. 2 posh pizza's had items missing off them and my husbands must have been totally wrong as the waitress was arguing with the chef about them. 4 out of 5 were delivered to the table my husbands turned up later which he went and got himself from the pass as it was just sitting there. The dough was not cooked properly and it was unedible. All they kept saying was that they had been busy but there was just us and another couple in there. If they had simply explained they had a chef that hadn't a clue what he was doing and was new and he had done the orders wrong rather than rush another pizza and it be raw. It doesn't take much to explain as mistakes happen but to then be stared out across the room by the chef as we sent the food back was unsettling.

The waitress apologised and we have no issues with them it's the kitchen that clearly has major issues. They offered us a free meal and drinks as a apology but we said we would pay for the drinks but not food

After speaking with other people apparently we are not they only ones that have experienced...

Pretty uninspiring food, to say the least. We ordered a caraffe of Malbec, which when brought to the table tasted as though it had been decanted and left out overnight, a couple of days prior. We exchanged it for another to be advised that both caraffes had been poured from freshly opened bottled. The second was far better so own conclusions should be drawn.

The starters were promising, we had the king prawns and the mushroom offerings. These were actually alright by comparison to the mains. For the main event my partner had the chicken and asparagus risotto. This arrived horribly overcooked and without any sign of having been near let alone in contact with asparagus. My partner soldiered on but gave up having pushed the mush around the plate a few times to find the hiding chicken. I finished what had to be the worst pasta dish I've ever eaten. Billed as Mediterranean Vegetable Pea Fusilli, it was supposed to contain 'tender stem brocolli' among its ingredients. None was seen. The pasta had the appearance of having been cooked, then baked, then left out for quite a while then microwaved.

The above was brought to the attention of thr waiter - who seemed to have very little English (or Italian) but did understand "please ask the manager to come". The manager was very apologetic, said she would raise out concerns with the chef and offered to remove items from our bill. It is only because of the remedial action that this review gains a 3 star 'ok'. Needless to say we didn't try pudding, but did leave very...

Normally have a lovely time at this prezzos (family friendly) but this time the food was mediocre and service was just absolutely dreadful. Absolutely no interest paid to our table what so ever. We arrived at 6.15 our booking time as we have a 2 Yr old so wanted a quick in, eat and out. This didn't happen. We tried ordering first which arrived in OK time but then the staff didn't even do table checks which was definitely needed as my ravioli was under cooked and I attempted to get attention of anyone which didn't happen as they were running around like headless chickens in a not that busy restaurant. Eventually our table was cleared without even a glance or to ask if everything was OK and no offer of a dessert menu. Eventually someone gave us one and after 10 minutes of sitting someone took our order and then someone else tried to take it for a second time... no communication happening at all.. The 2 puddings we ordered then took another half an hour to arrive which has obviously been sitting on the pass under a hot lamp as the ice-cream was melted and filmed... By the time we left it was gone 8pm and with a 2 year old than is less than desirable. To top it off it cost £70 for 2 meals and a kids meal. Overpriced? I think so.

Disappointed is an understatement we won't...

If you are gluten free you are better off going to coop across the road and buying a frozen pizza. £18 at prezzo gets you a kids size frozen flat bread. The cherry on top was that it wasn’t even cut into slices - fun when you takeaway to the beach. Chilli garlic cheese fries came with no cheese. At this point, I wasn’t sure if I’d ordered food or participated in a very expensive prank.

This is such a nice restaurant. You’re always greeted with friendly staff and the food is absolutely delicious!! The gluten free options are very good and the staff are very knowledgeable. Nothing is too much trouble. We love Prezzo at Aldeburgh more than our local Prezzo. I hope the chef never leaves!!
