Just had to contact you all that helped us celebrate my husband’s 66th birthday last night - (actually on Thursday). Right from go your waitress directed us to our table with a warm smile - which is not often the case! Wish I had asked her name … she then served the 6 of us taking our orders patiently with excellent advice and when we joked (usually bad and not funny) she smiled along. Such a warm relaxed atmosphere with just enough tables for the feeling to be intimate. This lady is obviously much more than your waiting staff - she had hand written and decorated a birthday card from you all which was such a lovely extra touch. To top it all after the most delicious three course meal I’d had in a long time with absolutely no left overs from any of us, the birthday cake that we ourselves had provided was revealed at exactly the right time with lit candles provided by us and also a firework candle provided by the restaurant- what a lovely extra touch! This was then sliced, plated and decorated at no extra cost with cream and chocolate wafer tubes - my daughter preferred to order a chocolate brownie type dessert which after hinting to me that she’d like my chocolate tube, was given a plate full of the wafers of her own how attentive and generous was that! Thank you for making this celebration warm, personal and totally indulgent...
Read moreHaving great expectations sometimes comes with great disappointments... sadly was the experience had!
Yes understand the fact they’ve recently opened and had staffing issues! as politely explained by the staff that was, however it was clear that the impact of the ‘issues’ reflected in the experience had!
It took the best part of an hour to get our food which was main dishes only... but was served in segment ie the main plate, then had to wait (kept asking) for the sides / sauces so what was already ‘warm’ish’ mains further chilled! Sadly the quality of the cooking was below par of what should have been great because of ingredients available! (again ‘excused’ by staff because of said team shortages) the steak which are expensive, was little edible, chewy and undercooked fat! and the stuffed calamari was, to be honest beyond edible, tough and the stuffing was overcooked and had split giving a ‘scrambled eggs’ texture!
Given, three stars because of the actions of the staff taken, with again apologising for the ‘staffing’ issues which led to the poor experience / food had and ultimately the remedial action taken... so do congratulate them on that part...
Do hope that the ‘team’ settles down and things become routine for the potential of the Blue Salt experience / ingredients upon could be a truly good...
Read moreI booked for Saturday evening and restaurant was fully booked. As you enter the place, a magnificent paintings on the walls and the luxuries of modernity welcome you. Sitting in any table, you have a wonderful view of the workshop-like kitchen where you can see the chef working, yes only one chef, I feel for him, he was a very tall guy. He was like an artist done all cooking by himself like an iron horse, I was amazed and paralysed by watching him I have visited many countries and I dined in many restaurants but I have never seen someone like him full focused what he was doing. I have never ever write any reviews to any places in my life, if I have an issue with my experience I usually share with the management while I am there. But in this place I stayed until they close to have a chance to talk to chef and in the end while talking to him I understand he was the chef owner and he was the only chef in his restaurant. He is an amazing guy and I wish him best of luck. The menu offers a wide variety of mouth watering dishes. Despite the not so attentive waiters service, I had a pleasant dining experience with food of the most exquisite flavours. For this reason, I highly recommend going to the blue...
