Costa Coffee — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Terrible customer service tonight 7/2/2017. Young girl behind the counter either didn't like us or doesn't like her job, she had a glare from the minute she started "serving" us. Her "service" consisted of throwing our cakes on a plate, making us feel like we really inconvenienced her by actually choosing what to get (it was really quiet too). We ordered our drinks and I handed her my Costa card which she returned by slamming it down on the counter. I paid and while doing this she ignored me and slammed teaspoons in the saucers. My husband and our son stood there, looking at each other in disbelief that someone can be that rude with out actually feeling bad!!!! So I asked before they made our drinks to refund me as I'd rather go somewhere for a decent service. The guy who refunded us didn't even apologise for this situation, the girl kept saying "i dont know what you mean". I very clearly explained what I meant. If you don't want to put a smile on your face and just generally be polite when dealing with customers, then go get a job where you don't have to deal with people. Sadly Costa at martlesham has the monopoly in the area, and will are always be busy, but that does not excuse poor...

Feel like all Costa’s are declining in the area but this one especially. Food is mediocre, drinks are not the standard you’d expect. Got an iced latte and it was borderline warm not ‘iced’ at all you could make better at home and save your money. The place is dirty; tables rarely cleaned unless you ask, floors and chairs full of crumbs and dirty patches clearly haven’t been cleaned In a while. Flies are a huge issue too. Very hard to relax and enjoy anything in here won’t be returning, costa are definitely not closing the gap between them and Starbucks I’d genuinely drive the other side of town just to go to Starbucks instead. Service is okay the people friendly enough just not on it with cleaning and making up to scratch drinks unfortunately, they were also not busy so this isn’t the reason. Poor drive thru experience. I visited a couple of weeks back and the drink I purchased was £3.80. It was then showing £4 on the board less than a week later...I waited 10mins from driving in to get my order at the window (there were only 2 cars in front of me) I was then told my drink was actually now £4.30?! I said ‘it’s showing £4 on your board?’ To which I was informed all the prices had gone up…yet the board is still showing £4…It’s now made me think they could say it’s any price they like at the window? I felt stupid for questioning it and even more stupid for paying £4.30 for ‘whipped’ air in a plastic cup. I could’ve done it for free at home. I won’t be visiting again.
