Visited for the first time and extremely disappointed in the service and looks like we aren't alone in our thoughts. A lady, clearly new and still being trained with blonde hair, was friendly and polite - no complaints about her at all. However, the lady doing the salad with brown hair and glasses was extremely rude and abrupt and because of her we won't be returning. On multiple occasions she would ask a question and then proceed to interrupt as we were responding, for no reason, other than to ask if we wanted lettuce. This happened to multiple customers, not just us. We would say lettuce if we wanted it and don't really understand what the point of it was. My child realised there were hash browns at the salad counter, so we politely asked if we could get some, this lady proceeded to moan at us because we "should have ordered them at the first counter", not the salad counter. Just overall her attitude and the attitude of a short-haired lady maybe in her 40s or 50s at the till was just rude. Very much felt looked down upon, not welcome, and just made the place a horrible atmosphere. Don't know who the manager is, but think given other people's reviews, maybe the staff need talking to. Then again, maybe the manager is part of the problem. The portions were awful as well for the salad. Again, many others complaining about this. The only salad my child wanted was sweetcorn, they only put about 5 pieces of sweetcorn in their sandwich. The same for ours, the tiniest amounts of salad for a foot-long. If I had read the reviews beforehand, we wouldn't have gone and would have gone to Greggs instead....
Read morePopped into Martlesham Heath Subway for the second time today and was very disappointed!!! Gave it a second chance after a poor experience first time round, but never again! Walked in, the counter and chillers were filthy, ordered 2 Salads. Think the member of staff was having a bad day, 1 very small handful of lettuce in each, only 3 cucumbers in 1, and 3 tomatoes slices in the other. Sweetcorn was running out, but she didn't want to go and get more, when challenged and asked if she could put more on (hint hint, change the tub) she put her hand into the tub, scooped up a couple more bits out and proceeded to put more water than sweetcorn on the salad. When asked if there was more out back, she asked her colleague if there was more, colleague who was doing nothing, replied "you'll have to look", girl serving went and had a look, there wasn't any more. So I asked for some peppers, onions and gherkins on 1 salad, and got very small handfuls of each. Oh and grated cheese on top, a very small sprinkle that barely covered the tiny salad was applied. When I mentioned it was a very small salad to normal subways and asked if she could put more lettuce on she didn't say anything, she didn't care and seemed like she couldn't be bothered to be there. Normally when we get salads from Subway, the boxes are three quarters full to over flowing, this wasn't even half full and it's the second time from this establishment. NEVER AGAIN THOUGH!!! Filthy premises, rude staff and nothing for...
Read moreStood in the store while 3 people made food. I waited patiently for my turn. As there were 3 people serving, I tried to stay somewhere in between them. But a woman walked in, and this girl started making her sandwich. I asked, "Do you not see me here?"
"Yeah... sorry"
Ah, don't worry about it. I'll turn around and walk out, and I'll NEVER return. It was obvious who I was and what I was doing. Don't expect me to know where to queue up when people are serving from all over the place.
So I can't stand ignorance like that. A staff member isn't even trained to say, "Can I help you?"
I've had food from there twice. It was basically sludge due to the bread getting so soaked. It's also close to £10 for about a 10" sandwich. I don't understand the hype. It's not good at all. I went to the Greggs 3 doors up. You can always trust Greggs. Just my opinion. But today, you really really p*ssed me off, and I think all 3 of you knew that as I stormed out. Sandwiches aren't worth £9. Even with slice beef or meatballs.
A dive, which opened doors away from a Greggs that has been there years. With a McDonald's around the corner, a KFC, and about 100 other places, I don't remember anybody asking for a Subway!...
