Greggs — Restaurant in East Suffolk

I have to say, I've been a fan of Greggs for a while, but I won't step foot in Ipswich town centre branch opposite Sainsbury ever again. Having reached my magical 🥳free drink, i went in to claim this only to be told as they scanned the app, how did i wish to pay? With my free drink, was my reply, which was met with well the til says you have to pay. Ok, so what, 30p for the syrup? No the full £2.30, eh no, the free drink I've managed to accumulate should cover this!! There then insewed a long and painfully embarrassing discussion between myself and three members of staff, all the while about seven or eight other people are now queuing wondering what the...🤬 is going on..I was then told that i should contact Greggs to explain the issue. The drama i had getting this coffee was beyond a joke, to make matters worse when i finally left the store after the staff managed to eventually see the light 💡, the coffee itself tasted bitter and cold ( the irony ). Disappointed today with my service this morning.

Have to say previously to this bad experience, it has been enjoyable visiting this Greg's store.

Attended store at 7:15 this morning and the young blonde lady behind the till seemed distracted by some other customers, when serving me, I understand this happens and everyone should have fun at work. But after the customers went, she proceeded to then mess around with her work colleague who was also on a till, which may have been her manager/supervisor.

On trying to make my order, I had to tell her twice my order, because she wasn't really listening and then twice what sauce I wanted.

The foods only really ok early in the morning. But the some of the staff are really rude and abrupt. They should have separate ques for ordered via the app too as you specifically go for a time and end up waiting, whilst your food and coffee gets cold and they serve 10 people in front. *update: The female staff have an attitude problem big time. Baguettes are always cold, undercooked and lacking. Paid extra for extra bacon and got a single piece. Constantly forgetting to put ketchup in.
