The restaurant is in the first floor.their fish fry or fish fillet are fresh from sea.. Can taste the sweetness of the fish. The flour or batter are not that thick but enough to cover the filet and gives some crispy and crunchiness on the outside. Cook to perfection and batter has it flavour too. The ketchup and tartar sauce are first class. Very nice... The chips are fried to perfection. No oil absorb into the fries or chips. Mushy peas.. a long while a go..the mushy peas were then a lot darker ...ie not overly cook. It tasted very nice then to compliment the fish and chips. Anyway mushy peas are still nice.....
The food is similar to the sister's chip shop.. Except it has air conditioning. Clean toilet.. and comfortable table for eating. Crispy salad..-nice
Also list of dessert.
The sister's chip shop should have address of the upper deck diner next to the name. For some they wouldn't know that one could sit with family and enjoy the food upstairs. And ended up queuing.
Overall will come again when in the vicinity like today... Been here few years ago...too... Please keep the price down and reasonable.. your client will remember and keep...
Read moreOn the 19th April 2025 we were visiting aldeburgh with friends as we had heard aldeburgh were famous for their fish and chips. The 4 of us then went into the upper deck diner for our lunch sat down, we all ordered the medium cod and chips and was so looking forward to our meal. Med cod and chips x 4 cost us a total of £ 59.60 with the drinks being extra etc etc , well I have to say the cod which we were all served was very very disappointing, it was much smaller than we were expecting, the batter was dark in colour and it was dry and crunchy and tasteless and was mainly batter and what little cod in side the batter was full of big bones, I can honestly say it was the worst fish and chips meal we had ever ordered when out. We were all so very disappointed with our meal as it didn't feel like the meals were cooked to order as the meal were not very hot at all, I have to say the whole meal tasted like the fish may have been pre cooked then put into a hot oven to keep it warm until it was ordered, the same with the chips. Very disappointing indeed and We certainly won't be returning to the upper deck...
Read moreTrying to plough through large haddock and chips. It hasn't just been over cooked it has been annihilated. My wife's fish is brown inside and is no longer a fillet more a mass of whitey-brown bits. I will not come back. We should have realised when our order came extremely quickly. Faster than a microwave meal. We are totally dissatisfied with this place. The food is pre-cooked in readiness for a busy service and has sat...then flashed again through the Fryer. I am hard pressed Not to take my wife's 2and offering away to show to an EHO, part of her fish looks jellyish in texture.
Clearly, the chef here does not know what he/she is doing and the EHO needs to come and check that good practice is being observed.
As my wife stated, this is first and foremost a fish and chip restaurant and they cannot get this, their most basic...
