Popped in for a bite on a Friday lunchtime, not too busy, managed to get a table by the fireplace. We had the really good Thai style muscles from the specials menu board. There was a decent offering for vegetarians on the main menu, and well-chilled bottled Adnams Ghostship which went down a treat. Mains were followed by the 'very good' mixed fruit crumble, every bit as very good as aptly described by the staff. The sticky toffee pud was also very both those things. The meal was well priced, and the service good so the only thing to keep this from being a five star review was a very dirty dog (fabric door stop) by the fireplace and a mirror above the fireplace which looked as though the fire had been lit beneath it, which clearly it had not. It was dirty. Also, some self-adhesive plastic hooks with bits of plastic hanging off them were stuck to the mantlepiece to no good effect. This area would be so easy to tidy up to prevent it being a distraction from the otherwise great dining experience.

Situated on high street a stones throw from the beach, you know the fish has to be fresh. Mostly fish based menu but it still manages a varied and interesting range of dishes. For starters we shared halloumi "chips" with sweet chili dipping sauce and houmous with bread. Our mains were a rich and creamy crab gratin, full of crab with a crunchy topping and a deeply filling fish pie with smooth potato and a rich selection of white fish and salmon. Pigging out, we also opted for a very rich chocolate and cointreau pot and a delicious raspberry trifle. The whole meal plus drinks was only around the £60 mark. A bargain if you ask me. Would certainly visit again.

A lovely little restaurant and yet, doesn’t feel crowded. The food was amazing and actually, one of the best fish & chips I ate in a very long time. The waiter said that the fish cooked fresh and not been frozen and you can tell. For any tourists that are coming from busy cities like London, be aware that it is a slow paste town and the service the same. We waited 20-30 minutes for fish and chips and even soft drinks take a while to arrive and that’s ok just aware of that. They also have a little seafood shop just nearby that we also bought few items and it was delicious. Highly recommended If you are not in a rush.

We dined here for dinner. The bistro is small but very inviting and cosy. We shared a gradvalax starter which was a generous serving, the correct temperature with not too much dill and very flavourful. The waitress served us the wrong starter to begin with but it was rectified quickly and we were given the garlic bread mistaken starter for free which was the nicest garlic bread we'd ever tasted. The sea trout and spinach risotto was mixed in its delivery as the risotto was watery and could have been more creamy but the sea trout was very fresh and superb. The fish pie was very hot and seemed to only have salmon or trout and a white fish. It could benefit from having a few prawns in it for variation and there was a lot of potato but it was tasty with nicely cooked seasonal vegetables as an accompliment. There is a good wine list. The double espresso was good also with complimentary chocolate mints with the bill. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a deli attached to...

I have been frequenting this restaurant with my mother and grandmother for probably about twenty years, which tells you how good it is: we keep coming back!

My grandmother is almost 90 and very unsteady on her feet, but the staff are very welcoming and reserve us an accessible table.

It means a lot for Grandma to be able to get out, and the warm welcome and kind, thoughtful service here make it a special family spot for us.

Mum and Grandma adore the fish pie, whilst I've made my way through the rest of the menu and can safely say it's all delicious! In fact, we once returned from a holiday in Rhodes and had better mezze at the Aldeburgh Market! Not only is the cooking superb, but the portions are generous.

The fishmonger attached to the restaurant is also very helpful and sells excellent...
