Cru — Restaurant in Eastbourne

First time here, Steak was really nice, hot and cooked well, thought it may have been a little bigger though for £32 ,wish i had got a side dish with it. My partner had the short rib she loved it. Only thing that let the meal down was the pudding, we was hoping for an apple pie but it was actually a crumble it was really small and the custard made it look like it was pre-made from the fridge to the microwave for £9.00 this did let it down for us considering the main was really nice! I know its not the restaurants fault as its the same everywhere this time of year but we very nearly walked out after ordering drinks as the noise level was so high from an xmas party me and my partner couldn't here each other, if i had know they had two xmas partys booked for this evening i would have made another reservation for another night, luckily i think the staff could tell it was bothering us and managed to move us to the bar area witch was ideal, but then after a while you get people standing around you while your trying to eat. not ideal! Dinner Cru Eastbourne A true hidden gem. We struck gold when we found this outstanding wine bar restaurant. It is the total definition of a hidden gem. On a side street in the center of Eastbourne in a basement.

Their menu is like a dream. On offer are small plates which you can order like tapas style. Also large plates lamb,fish,burger and Incredible steaks.

We stuck to the small plates so we could try various dishes. The special was the plank steak which was mouthwatering delicious. And the Truffle onion rings. 😲 OMG. See pics for others we had.

This place was so good that we had to go back a second night to try even more delights. Half lobster thermidor Beef Short rib that just melted in the mouth. Wild Mushroom Croquettas More Scallops This time we finished with Affogato & Frangelico Liqueur

It's owned by a lovely couple Hardy & Jordan. They have very professional staff who are all lovely too. Booking is essential as they were full both nights we were there.
