Deliciously Gorgeous — Restaurant in Eastbourne

My boyfriend and I visited Deliciously Gorgeous a couple of days ago and the all-round experience has prompted me to write my first review - it was that good!! I have Crohn's so have been dairy-free for 6 years meaning little to no choice when it comes to ice cream however on Saturday, I decided to Google if there was anywhere in walking distance to even get a scoop of vanilla. Luckily for us, Deliciously Gorgeous came up top - and rightly so!! There were at least 8 or 9 flavours to choose from (I was too excited to actually count lol!) and they were INTERESTING too! It may seem silly but it made me able to forget my food restrictions and just enjoy ice cream. The owner was just wonderful too. He talked us through each flavour including letting us know which were made from oat and which from soya before we asked which is super important when you have to be careful with your food. I didn't get his name but will find out next time - he was just so warm, funny and spent time talking to us. Just what you want from a local business! The shop is slap bang in town so really easy to find and lovely seating both in and outdoors. I had banana and peanut butter, blueberry and ginger nut biscuit flavours but will absolutely have to go back to try the rest . My boyfriend just had a coffee but even that was indulgent! 3 shots of coffee and a tasty truffle alongside with the cappuccino topped with a chocolate Deliciously Gorgeous logo! What a shambles. No one seemed to know what they were doing. The person that took my order just kept pressing different buttons on the till for about 5 minutes before my order was finally put through. We waited 25 minutes before someone came over to check what our order was. It had clearly been lost in the system. We gave it again but was told there was no decaf coffee. Had I been told this when I ordered, I would have gone elsewhere as unfortunately I cannot have caffeine. I then ordered an alternative but after waiting another ten minutes and still didn’t have our drinks I began to explain to the expressionless member of staff why we would need to cancel our order as we had no time to drink it due to our parking time. She couldn’t have cared less. The gentlemen that provided our refund was clearly rushed off his feet and was rather rude. I booked for Tuesday 8th of April , as a mothers Day treat for my 75-year-old young mum . When we arrived, we were shown to our reserved table and offered either 2 hot drinks or 1 cold drink each included in our afternoon tea . Roughly 8 minutes after our hot drinks arrived came our gorgeously devine platter of goodies . There were lots included . Very fresh sandwiches 🥪 , tuna , cream cheese, and cucumber, ham and I think cheese and pickle. A nice portion of fresh salad, too . Then we had our large scones, and we had ours the cornish way , Jam first and cream on top . The moisture cakes on the top tier and boxed sweet treat was too much to have after everything else , so the friendly lady ( who was wearing a t shirt with a picture of her cats on , sorry we didn't get your name) swiftly got us a take home box and a bag to carry it in .
