Upscale south-african cuisine chain restaurant situated across various points in the country. Presented with a warm welcome and atmosphere and assigned to a table of our choice (within reason) by the waiter 'Jack' who was generally enthusiastic and helpful towards our overall experience 🙌. The decor is usually quirky and amusing but found this branch certainly exceeded that as the colour and vibe seemed on a greater scale while what I perceived as a smaller interior which I can applaud this aspect especially of the business👏.
The products or 'food items' I should say we ordered came in an positively adequate time and the staff were generally knowledgeable about the menu items which mimized a disruption in time and order (like my party has experienced in some other restaurants, not other nandos though of course :) ). The food had an appealing presentation and not too much of a problem to retrieve your own cutlery, sauces and drinks from the bar. I have to say though that the prices are somewhat OK, especially with the condiments and sauces etc optionally included however find the prices could perhaps be reduced by 10-20% as some products appear slightly expensive for the amount of food your receive which may put off other customers from ordering that dish again - this case happened for me on a couple of dishes which I find a bit of a shame.
The actual quality of the food was 4/5 as it did meet my requirements and expectations in taste however a couple of dishes were inevitably inedible, for example the roasted veg because I had the veggie captalana as one of my meals and ate all of it except the roasted veg as when I tried to eat it, I just simply couldnt digest it and I certainly don't have a weak digestive system on the contrary, I think Nandos can improve on this by perhaps dicing up or finely chopping up this veg to smaller pieces in order to consume this, if this suggestion is approved, I will certainly have the roasted veg again otherwise most likely not.
The choc a lot cake was somwhat a reasonable size and had a distinct taste however I find that this taste could be complimented if it was at least slightly heated to induce that chocolate flavour. The bottomless frozen yogurt is always good value for money and filled by serving to the complete utter top while everyone present in the restaurant laughing at me 😂😂! It was alright, but on this occasion the yogurt was much colder than it usually was an was consistently experiencing brain freeze 😫 which was annoying at times 😣
Overall, a positive outcome and would be somewhat delighted to return to this establishment and try a range of their other dishes. Recommend to all the...
Read moreSo. Friday June 24th I went into this branch of Nandos Ordered a bottle of wine and dinner for four people. I was told to go and sit down and the wine would bought over to the table. A few minutes later someone came to the table to tell me they didn’t have any in stock. So why allow me to order something you don’t have? I asked for a simple refund which they said they couldn’t do and had to fill out a form which then had to go through their head office, after which a refund would take place. This process I was told would take 2-3 day. A week later still no refund. I rang the store and was told to wait another 2 days for the refund as head office was closed at the weekends. A week passes. Still no refund. I rang again and ask to speak to the manager regarding this issue. Was told to hang on while she went through it and this would take 5-10 minutes. I told her I was not prepared to wait and she can call me back once she had found what she was looking for ( great customer service) 🙄 Ten minutes later I get a call back. It’s going to take 10 days to give you a refund I was told. Why I asked? Oh because it’s head office that’s dealing with it. It’s now a month later. Still no refund. I have emailed their head office to complain and it says I would be replied to by the area manager with in 3-5 working days. And guess what? No response. Disgusting service and will never use this or any other Nando’s and again and will make sure everyone I know...
Read moreDespite being a busy Saturday evening, the staff here managed the floor excellently and accommodated my party of 6 in roughly 20 mins (their estimate was over half an hour). I do like the pay upfront model as then you don't need the frustration of waiting for busy staff and getting the bill. After ordering food arrived pretty quickly (again impressive given it was busy). However, for me I was very much underwhelmed by the hype surrounding the food itself, but this could be down to my choice, a chicken pitta. It was nice, but decidedly ordinary. Am not a fan of chilli so maybe that's the issue as went for a mild marinade. Additionally, the chicken fillet was cold, and I was later assured it was supposed to be hot. Anyhoo, the staff are credit to the company. Top tip for fans of drinking: they follow this new trend of selling small bottles of beer...I'd stick to a bottomless soda. Edit for Oct '23: Love the concept of using a QR code to scan to take you to the ordering site and paying up front on that. If ordering just a wrap...food arrived quickly...anything more and it can take a while. If you're not into seeds and quinoa, I wasn't quin on the rainbow slaw drenched in chilli oil that pepper sprayed my tonsils, so will stick to normal slaw from hence forth. Opted for the bottomless drink option...which helped...
