I first noticed this restaurant as I departed the Holocaust memorial service on the evening of the 26th. It looked so warm and inviting I promised myself I'd return soon. I'm SO glad I found Rosetto again!
I was warmly welcomed and guided to my table. I selected a pollo ai fungi, garlic bread and a coke.
The presentation was lovely, the chicken was tender, with well seared mushrooms, whole baby potatoes, a roasted red pepper slice, along with small strips of aubergine. The cremoso was freshly prepared and beautifully complimented the chicken and overall dish.
I so much enjoyed both the kind staff and meal I shall most certainly be returning. Whilst it was all so enjoyable, I must say I was rather taken aback at the cost of my bottled coke, however.
My recollection was that it was £3.95. I do realise in the UK our 'nanny' government made the decision to penalise the public for consuming sugar based drinks, much preferring that the government will be able to ignore the long-term effects of compelling society to consume carcinogenic sweeteners as the viable alternative to anyone who chooses sugar; even those of us who are severely allergic to products such as aspartame. But such is the composition of our democratic government and MP's who claim they know what's better for society.
Rosetto is a lovely restaurant which I shall continue to highly recommend. Lovely, people, service, and food. As for the drink, I'll just have to defer to a glass of wine for lunch instead. Vive la...
Read moreI am posting this review because I emailed the restaurant about this matter but have had no reply, so the poor service continues! On Saturday 10 August I booked a table for 3 people for 6pm, we were a few minutes late arriving due to parking but not by more than 5 minutes.
Two of my party ordered from the pre theatre menu and had 2 courses which you advertise as £16.95. The other person ordered from the specials. Our starters were served quickly but we then waited a long time for the mains. Upon asking about our main course at 7pm we were told it would be 5 minutes, in fact it arrived at 7:15 piping hot, too hot to eat. This meant that we were unable to eat our food and had to ask for it to be put into containers to take away. We explained that the theatre show started at 7:30 and your waitress said not to worry, it would probably start at 7:45, she was totally wrong, it started at 7:30 on the dot so just as well we didn't take her advice!
I have now realised that you also overcharged us, the bill states 2 course pre theatre £19.95 when in fact your menu states 2 courses are £16.95!
I am so disappointed in your service, especially because my husband and I had visited just a month ago and had a wonderful meal, served quickly and all delicious.
To have recommended to my friends that your restaurant was great and then experience such poor service and then be overcharged is embarrassing to...
Read moreRosetto is one of Eastbourne’s better-known Italian restaurants, offering a wide menu and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The place has a cozy, family-friendly vibe, and the staff are attentive and genuinely friendly.
The food is generally excellent — fresh ingredients, generous portions, and authentic flavors. The pasta dishes are well-prepared (the seafood linguine and carbonara are standouts), and the pizzas are thin and crispy, although a few could use a bit more seasoning. The desserts, especially the tiramisu and panna cotta, are delicious and worth saving room for.
Prices are fair for the quality, especially with their pre-theatre menu, which gives good value for money. Drinks can feel slightly overpriced, but that’s a minor complaint overall.
Service is usually quick and efficient, though at peak times it can slow down a bit when the restaurant is full.
Overall, Rosetto is a great spot if you’re looking for a relaxed Italian meal in Eastbourne — perfect for couples, families, or a pre-theatre dinner.
