Very friendly staff. We sat inside and ordered drinks (yellow smoothie and a margarita) both drinks were delicious, freshly made. We asked if the music could be turned down as I can't cope with that level of noise but staff explained the music couldn't be turned down and luckily it had stopped raining so we sat outside. Totally understand that the music brings a certain vibe to the venue but it would still bring that vibe at a level where you can hear it but also be able to talk comfortably without needing to talk over the music. We ordered coronation chicken sandwich and a cheese toasties, lots of cheese! Both came with salad and were full up with the chicken and cheese. Very impressed with the food and drinks. Good prices for the portions you get. Only didn't give a 5 star as if it was raining we would've had to leave as even the indoor spot that was presented to us after asking if the music could be turned down would still have been too loud and a sensory overload for me and wouldn't want to miss out on the delicious food. Staff were chatty and helpful and we appreciated the effort that went in to making us both comfortable.

Unfortunately, this place was a huge disappointment. We visited based on the brilliant ratings and reviews, but should have spotted the red flags straight away. The entrance to their small outdoor seating area was cordoned off with signs warning "if you're in a rush, this isn't the right place for you." After waiting ages to be served, we were finally seated at a corner table. We moved to a nearby table with better shade as it was blazing hot, but the waiter immediately made us return to the original two-person table - right next to a blasting speaker. When we politely asked if the music could be turned down a touch, he rudely refused, saying "this is the vibe of the place." Despite this, we tried to make the best of it and looked at the menu. Within a minute, the same waiter returned, snatched our menus away, and told us he didn't think this was "the right place for us." We were essentially kicked out for absolutely no reason. We’ve never experienced such appalling service. The restaurant wasn't even busy. Completely unacceptable behaviour - avoid at all costs!

Firstly, I can only apologise that I have not left a review sooner. As a family we used to visit every week, in fact, our last weekend out was at The Soup shack.. then we we were all struck with the pandemic. I have waited nearly 2 years to finally enjoy a Shack breakfast again!... This time I took some pictures of the delicious food. I am a real 'Foodie' and love trying new places to eat. But, this place is my favourite by far. I am so pleased to see the same staff, same welcome, superb food and service. The atmosphere is relaxed and chilled. Great South American music and always greaeted with a smile 😁. This time I treated my dad to the delight. He was amazed to see such a place in Eastbourne and particularly enjoyed the Spanish language doing its rounds. Thank you for making this a great experience. We look forward to visiting very soon with the family, for our traditional weekend Soup n tap.. P.s, my brother loved his Takeaway onion soup 🤌🍽️☕😁

We recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant, and I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before dining here. The owner, a bearded man with tattoos, displayed the rudest and most arrogant behaviour I've ever encountered in any dining establishment. The restaurant was playing music at an excessively high volume that it was nearly impossible to communicate with the staff or even hear us think. When I politely asked the owner to repeat himself because I couldn't hear him over the music, he responded by shouting each word, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. Our table was unfortunately positioned directly under the speakers. When we requested for the volume to be lowered a bit , explaining how the loud music was impacting our dining experience, the owner flatly refused. We then asked if we could change tables, and his response escalated from rude to aggressive. He raised his voice, drawing the attention of other diners and staff, making a scene that was both embarrassing and humiliating. The situation worsened when he decided to cancel our food order entirely. He demanded that we pay for an unfinished cocktail and LEAVE immediately !!! His behaviour was not only unprofessional but also blatantly discriminatory and hostile. His body language and overall demeanour were dreadful, leaving us shocked. My friend was so stressed out trying to calm down the owner but ended up trembling and in tears. Well, the owner clearly needs a serious lesson in customer service, as his current approach seems to be insulting and alienating customers without any justifiable reason. Additionally, we noticed from the reviews that other customers were asked to LEAVE as well, so such behaviour from the owner is not an exception but seems to be becoming a rule.

PS: Thank you for a response. However, I’m a bit confused about the comment regarding the "foreigner card." I do not recall mentioning anything about that...
