Lunchtime Friday. Pretty quiet. Takeaway. Went for the £9.99 lunchtime deal - ‘mini cod & mini chips’ with various side options, I went for mushy peas as usual. Asked how big ‘mini’ was and didn’t get much of a steer but went for it anyway. Was pleasantly surprised on the portion size which was plenty for a lunchtime feed. Freshly cooked cod, good chips were crispy and not greasy at all. Peas were fine, again perfect portion. Batter on the fish was crispy, not cloying and no skin on the fish was a nice touch. They know what they’re doing clearly. Double wrapped the cardboard tray in paper. Obviously no salt and vinegar on them as was a 10 minute drive back home. Pickled onions and mayo models own.

What a fab find we both had cod with chips. Fish cooked perfect brilliant chippy chips.must not forget mushy peas and curry sauce both fab.lovely clean modern restaurant .serving staff brilliant very welcoming and attentive.it was our first visit but definitely not our last.trawlers of Seaford take note because this is a proper fish and chip and the best in the whole of England.goodbye trawlers hello Trident.

£14 for a large cod and chips and I get the smallest cod ever. I did wonder as I ordered it took as long as putting my card in the card reader to have the cod and chips bagged and on the counter. I drove home 2 minutes, opened the box and saw how smallit was...remembering it cost £14. It was/is cold. Writing this with 15 min of purchase because I am so angry at being ripped off to this extent.

Trident Fish Restaurant has undergone an amazing makeover & they now have a very smart, contemporary looking restaurant. 8 of us dined for a birthday get together recently & I believe there were 8 clean plates at the end; the same tasty fish n chips remain, with the re-vamped restaurant! We were impressed by the look of a hamburger that a member of our party opted for, over fish on that occasion & by all accounts it was really rather tasty. The only down point of our experience was trying to get the bill after it was asked for. We estimated it took around 20mins as the main waiter seemed to be having to wait, serve meals, make drinks, sort out the bills with only one younger & perhaps less experienced colleague, that he was a bit busy! This would not make me rate our experience any less...

Having been a customer here for over 20 years, my takeaway experience was beyond apology this Friday. Fish was inedible, rang up to complain to be connected with young front of house staff who said "sorry"... Unfortunately after a string of bad takeaways here and always forgetting to put salt and vinegar when asked I wont be returning here again. Its honestly not difficult to see the short comings of this business..... Give an order number rather than shouting out the whole order to a room full of clueless customers..... Put salt and vinegar when asked..... Care about your regular customers, a classic example of backwards expansion since new restaurant opened. When Julie worked here things were efficient and you felt looked after, unfortunately this element of service has...
