So staff were lovely … bagel wasn’t bad.. also wasn’t great, but there was absolutely nothing about it that should have cost the £6 that it did
A plain bagel… with hummus .. tiny chopped up pieces of green pepper (sure the menu stated red as I actually really hate the taste of green peppers ) and onion…
Only two options available for vegans which is insanely poor … especially as any basic supermarket supplies an endless range of cheeses, pastrami, chorizo…. and pickles Are vegan?!
No seasoning like salt or pepper ..
Just really a poor show
But as I say the staff were lovely And I’m sure the job vegan options are probably delightful
Please please make the incredibly minimal Effort to do something better for the vegan option, either fix that or if it’s not popular enough remove it from the menu altogether …
Or change the price to £4 as it’s the most basic of bagels in the land, and Would fill a hole if hungry.. but £6 for what I had has left me feeling like it was a gigantic waste of money. And I will never be coming back as I think I came in about a year ago to check vegan options and asked if vegan cheese was possible and still a year on.. not a single change
My big exciting addition I asked for myself was the ‘ cucumber ‘ 😂 and without that it would have been the saddest bagel known to mankind
Even throwing on some pepper and a few sundries tomato’s would have given it a...
Read moreFirst of all I’d like to start by saying wow is the food here amazing. I come here almost weekly (sometimes twice a week) and I’ve never had a bad meal. From its American style bagels to the Window display this place is amazing!
It’s rare to find somewhere with such high standards for food quality, great service and the perfect price all on one! from the moment you walk in you are welcomed inn like it’s a second home, all the staff feel like your family even if it’s your first meeting them. The prices on the menu are all really fair prices, so nice to see an independent business not overcharging people. (Although I would still keep going even if they did). The girl that usually works at the tills always remembers my order which is always great service in my opinion.
They have a range of all kinds of baguettes, sandwiches and bagels, with vegan and gluten-free options available too, they have amazing Mac and cheese pots that are to die for! They have a wide range of American drinks along side a huge selection of American candy and snacks plenty to choose between.
Not far from the town centre only about a 10 minute walk but far enough that it’s not ruined but the busy town life.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would everything about this place...
Read moreDowntown Deli in Eastbourne may have a high rating, but our experience left us with mixed feelings. Intrigued by the 4.9 stars, my friends and I decided to give it a shot before catching our train. I opted for the Broadway Badboy sandwich, which tasted decent but left me feeling a bit underwhelmed considering its smaller portion size for the £5.50 price tag. The shop itself is cozy but with limited staff, so expect longer wait times than usual. In a nutshell, Downtown Deli is a decent spot if you're looking for a quick and easy meal, but don't expect anything...
