GAIL's Bakery Esher — Restaurant in Elmbridge

I’m so happy this store has come to our high street! The negative reviews on here puzzle me as since opening, we have visited regularly and not once had a bad experience or a bad tasting coffee. It is consistently excellent. Staff: The staff are exceptionally friendly and even made me remark about finally experiencing decent customer service which seems to lack everywhere.

Store: The presentation of all the baked goods is so well done. The food we’ve tried so far has always been really fresh and tasty. It’s got a really nice aesthetic inside and I like that I can take my dog in to get a takeaway even though we can’t sit inside with him.

The two girls working last night were so kind, we went in and ordered two coffees, I wanted a decaf coffee but they had run out. As we were leaving they offered me something from their food selection to apologise for not being able to offer decaf at that time. Not something they had to do but it was really...

I like Gail's. It's pricey, but selection is good.

Several points - it is now 2.30, and the staff member is enthusiastically sweeping the floors whilst there are customers still trying to enjoy their lunch/afternoon coffee. I honestly dont like floor dust with my lunch, and cleaning shouldn't really happen when there are customers.

Hygiene - a server was doing the bins or something when i came the other day. Luckily, she used tongs, as she didn't wash her hands. Another day i was asking for a bread, been told to help myself (was always asked a member of staff), i honestly dont like an idea of customers standing next to the shelves selecting their own breads/baked goods.

Love love love it here. Staff super friendly. Lovely tasting coffee, plenty yummy vegan options and an all round nice atmosphere. I was there a few days ago and Holly (I think her name was Holly) was absolutely spectacular. Served me promptly with a smile and even though she accidentally served my coffee with cows milk, she was very apologetic and made my order again without a hassle, and my oat milk flat white was exquisite....
