Have eaten here many times before and always enjoyed it so figured it would be a good venue for a birthday party in the upstairs function room. Booked in October 2022 for a party this July, wanted to get in booked in as thought they might be busy in the summer. Was told it would be £50 deposit for damages but no actually hire fee as the room isn’t really used and would be empty anyway. In March of this year was contacted to ask about what my booking details had been as the old manager had left and hadn’t left any information. Passed on what I had booked and the date. Was told that if I wanted to cater myself I would need to pay £100 for the room, was fine with this and that the room would only be private til 21.00 which was annoying, but it was it is. Earlier this week I had numerous emails to contact them which I did and eventually managed to get through to the manager who told me that another party had been booked on the same day. He offered to ring me the following day, which he did but after the time he said he would so I was in work. So he text asking me numbers and catering options, so I told him. He then said the room can’t be hired unless the party is at least 60 people, and you have to have them catering. I replied saying that I thought it was poor that this was the first time I was hearing this and that the double booking wasn’t picked up before now and now I am to find a new venue within 10 days. Never got a reply to this message. Very poorly handled and not...

My friend and I visited 21 for the Tapas Tuesday. We both love Tapas so we were very excited to try it! On arrival, we noticed the menu online wasn't anything like the physical menu, which could be annoying if you'd travelled a distance, anyway, we are foodies so we weren't that bothered although there were a few things not on the menu that we fancied. We ordered, the girl behind the bar was lovely, made a great cocktail which we enjoyed. Now.. the food. We had chicken skewers which has a rubbery texture when cutting, we then found out it was pinky white inside (uncooked) and wasn't a colour on the outside of the chicken cubes (like a charred colour). The prawns tasted very fishy (not usually a flavour you'd describe prawns to be), the meatballs looked very processed, not fresh. We concluded the only good dish was the garlic bread and mozerella sticks. Needless to say, we both left sharpish as my friend started with a bad stomach ache. We both threw up when getting home and had a piercing tummy ache all night and even today. Real shame as we were excited and it is local to us. The waiters and bar staff were lovely, hence the only reason it...

Went during the 50% government scheme to try out some more local restaurants, given the reviews I am disappointed and won’t be returning.

My first burger was raw so had to be returned, partner had to finish hers so we didn’t eat at the same time (had to wait around 5 mins.) Second burger was over cooked so just ate it as couldn’t be bothered waiting again. The burger itself didn’t have much (if any) seasoning. The chips that we ordered were wedges, when we asked the waiter why we have wedges we were told it was just a mixture of what they had. Being a bit nit picky but the mayonnaise was very watery and cheap. Pepsi was also very watered down and flat. I got to the bottom of the wedges and saw pea residue (not washed properly from previous people?)

Disappointed, glad we didn’t...

The only one of 6 pubs in that area, we rang that was actually open as it said online. The man in charge was very welcoming, and helpful when asked a question. The food was inexpensive, but lovely and filling for someone like me (I am the fussiest eater in the world). The disabled toilets were outside, but inside was very clean and plenty of room in there - should you be using a wheelchair. Sorry, but my only complaint was the landlord not wearing a mask when he spoke to customers. I don't know if we will ever drive in that direction again, a bit of a distance from Liverpool. Though if my husband decides to head that way again for a weekend away. 21 The High Street is where we will be stopping to eat.

We came for lunch yesterday as there were hardly any eateries open in Tadcaster on a Sunday! It was a long awaited meet up with friends and the food did not disappoint!! Between the 3 of us, we opted for a selection of tapas (5 for £19.99) and the Meat sharing board. The food came pretty quickly and was freshly made! The ribs were meaty and plentiful and loved the patatas bravas! The battered pigs reminded me of my days in London ordering sausage in batter and chips! But these little beauties were crunchy and delish! The staff were friendly and will be back again to try out the other dishes on the menu. They have a big pizza oven, so want to try that next time!!
