Angel & White Horse — Restaurant in England

We have been visiting The Angel regularly for about 3 years, and other Sam Smiths pubs for years prior to that. We visit because the staff are great, the beer is lovely and they’re dog friendly (or were until last night).

Unfortunately, the owner came in when we were in last night and took a dislike to our small, quiet dog that we’ve been bringing into Sam Smiths pubs for 6 years and proceeded to inform bar staff that dogs are now banned from the pubs. He’s already banned swearing (fair enough), card machines (???), mobile phones and devices (?!) and now dogs.

What a shame that a miserable, out of touch, old man is dragging the brewery into the ground. Is it any wonder that the place is almost empty on a Friday night? Not sure what will be banned next, beer? People?? Absolutely love this place, but won’t be coming...

Good for drinks, made the mistake of ordering sunday roast today. Half portion, microwaved veg, aunt Bessie's single roast potato and yorkshire pudding, smash potato substitute and was cold having taken over an hour to be prepared. Ran out of beef, offered turkey as a substitute but pork turned up. Honestly never ordering the food again. Only reason its not one star is ive been going there for years and the staff, decor and the beers are...

REAL BEER, REAL PUB This is the brewery pub and as with all Sam Smiths pubs, they have no distractions from Fruit Machines, Jukebox's or Televisions. Your not allowed to use your phone, tablet or laptop. Well this makes for a truly fabulous atmosphere, where people share conversation, this should be the norm !
