UPDATE went back for lunch some time later, still a high standard of service and great food too. We both had the triple D, highly recommended it! I had Ronalds revenge and frickles (pictured) wife had the winner winner with seasoned fries Service was friendly and quick The frickles were great with the blue cheese sauce and the burger was quite good, 2 thinnish patties, typical filling quite nice The winner winner was strange, menu choices says ceaser dressing bit it had a good dollop of mustard on top. Wierd. Fillet was thick and we'll cooked, could have had more seasoning. The seasoned fries lacked seasoning, it was there you could see if but no taste. In addition the fries were soggy and limp. Giving them benefit of the doubt with 3/5 gourmet burger kitchen is definitely better on the burgers. Prices were good with the red basket meal deal so can't complain about that. Venue is a little rough round the edges. Will revisit when they have settled in though Newburys restaurant scene is fickle it remains to be seen if they can compete2

Sadly choices to eat out in Newbury town are very limited. This has got to be the most unpleasant place in Newbury. I was looking forward to indulging in a guilty pleasure from a dirty burger but was disappointed with the quality. The onion straws batter soaked up so much oil losing the flavour of the onion. Oil pooling in your mouth as you chew. Whilst the first server was pleasant and helpful, the worst part were her colleagues who asked for feedback yet were quickly dismissive and defensive. A simple acknowledgement about it would have been enough and that was that - no big deal, we'll charge it to experience and didn't intend to write a review. However they find the need to gaslight you saying they have never heard such feedback and nobody has complained before in a mocking tone(subjective but this was how it came across from two staff teaming up against your feedback at the same time - not quite the right approach). At this point we just left it at that and didn't bother mentioning the burgers - the smashed patty was overcooked, salty and super greasy burnt crisp around the edges. It was quite early so not busy at all to be sloppy with the quality. Unpleasant experience for us that left a bad taste in our mouths. Not the guilty pleasure we were after so definitely will not recommend. We will never go back.

Ok, so this is tricky, so I'll go thru start. The place is OK but I'd say its very small considering only a few tables ( unless there was another room out the back?) Next the waiter was nice and briefly went thru the menu with us and left us alone to order. I have to say its one of the most weird menus I've come across its not self explanatory!🙄 So food ordered (starters) came and have to say it was nice. Our mains came next and they were nice, nothing to shout about, the bread buns were very nice and the filling was ok. My wife's came out with cheese which she had asked for no cheese so that went back and her fries stayed. I ate all mine by the time they fetched her correct burger out, so was then sat there while my wife ate by herself! So she looked at her burger and was a little disappointed, she had a burger which supposedly came with bacon 🥓. Now a place that trys to sell itself on burgers mainly, well the effort of putting what seemed to be a single piece of streaky bacon cut into 2 is gobsmacking as it really was not worth it (picture attached so u can see 🙄🤦♂️😶) . Would I go again, I'm afraid I wouldn't. I've had much tastier burger meals for less. I've tried it on recommendations, tho they went to the reading restaurant, so sadly I won't be bothered again!

Really impressed with this place. Super friendly staff and a pretty chilled out atmosphere. In Newbury for work I visited on two nights. The first time I had the tater tots with garlic mayo and the FKC gochujang chicken tenders which were great. The second time I had the PBBJ burger cooked pink (and it was!) and the chippy fries (covered in chippy curry sauce). It was all excellent. It's the second time I've had peanut butter on a burger and it works so well. Instead of jam they used chilli jam here which also works really well and has a nice wee kick. There are a LOT of options for the burgers from different "doneness", extra patties, vegan options and even an option to make them smash burgers. Really impressed with this place. I'm really hoping they open one in central or east London!! I'd definitely go again.

We've been here a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it each time , relaxed atmosphere and really good food . The burgers are to die for, the fries in all their variations are awesome, starters are super yummy (except the olives 🤮) But that's personal taste from an Olive hater 😁. My Daughter had a Salted caramel Milkshake recently and it was sublime . Service is good and prices are reasonable. My only minor gripe is they only serve 1 type of Thatcher's Cider and it's pretty strong at 7.4%. I'd prefer a regular Thatcher's Gold so I didn't feel a bit tipsy after a couple of bottles . Being a burger place the Vegetarian options are somewhat limited so go to Wagamama instead of you are a veggie If you've not been, I'd recommend it

Very speedy ordering via the QR codes on the menus. I would estimate no more than 10 minutes from ordering to receiving our food. The drinks came first - cans, opened with straws inside. Then the burgers. I ordered my classic cheese burger rare - it was incredibly juicy, really succulent but it was unpleasantly salty. I ate half. The fries were good, crispy and fresh but I would have been fine sharing a portion rather than getting a portion each. All in all, a fine experience but one I am unlikely to be repeating any time soon. Order Summary 2 x coke zero £4.80 seasoned fries w/paprika salt £4.50 classic cheese £8.95 iai(i)n with 3 eyes £15.25 Subtotal £33.50 Service Charge (7.5%) £2.51 Total £36.01
