Or family had the pleasure of dining at Lebanese House yesterday (Saturday 7th January) for an evening meal, we were incredibly impressed by everything they had to offer. The restaurant is in a nice location in Newbury, it has nice views of the Weavers Walk courtyard and the restaurant itself looks classy and it appears to have been decorated with love. There is a large menu, so large in fact, my partner and I really struggled to choose so we decided to go for the set menu for two. All of the food was really excellent, all the meat was cooked to perfection and had a lovely smoky taste. We particularly liked the lamb chops and the kofta. The skewered chicken was also very good. The falafels were absolutely amazing, I could have eaten an entire plate of them, definitely the best we have ever tasted. The houmous was also brilliant, it went so well with all the lovely food, and the staff even brought out some extra bread for us to mop it all up with. We had a few cocktails which were made to perfection by the staff, I particularly liked my Zombie, I’d defiantly have that again. Their house wine was also very good. Then to the staff, every person that served us was excellent, we felt very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them, we were even complimented on our dress sense, which I thought was very nice. This was some of the best service that we have had at a restaurant, especially from the lovely Susanne and Kila (really sorry if I got either of those names wrong, I didn’t write them down immediately, and I’d had a few by the time we left so may not have remembered correctly). They were both so nice and attentive and made us feel like VIP’s for our entire visit, they deserve recognition for their commitment to great customer service. Susanne even came out and took a photo of is all together which was very thoughtful. To sum up, excellent restaurant, brilliant food and drinks and an amazing staff team, highly recommend.

We had to travel 35 mins East of Swindon to have the best Lebanese food , as there is hardly any good Lebanese in Swindon - with a spacious and beautiful outdoor and indoor sitting area, kind and professional staff and fresh tasty food , Lebanese House has justice to beautiful Lebanon's elaborate cuisine ! We had the Set Platter for Two which contains a serving of Hot Mezze ( Tabouleh, Hummus, Salad, Calamari, Falaffel, Chicken Wings and Mince Meat wrapped in Wine Leaves and a Generous portion of fresh salad with Freshly baked Bread- it was a meal on its own 👏🏻 The waiter took that away once we were done and presented the BBQ platter ( Lamb Seekh Kebabs, Lamb Chops and Chicken Botis , served with rice , salad and bread - well cooked meat, tender and very flavorful. The dessert was 3 pieces of Kunnafeh drizzled in pistachio sauce - very rich and very fulfilling. I appreciate the Kunnafeh was freshly prepared as it was piping hot. Soft drinks are seperate as every Lebanese joint. With our bill, they gave us two local Lebanese sweets in a Lebanese handcrafted locket with our bill - class 👏🏻 The bill was as a standard Lebanese restaurant is - I would recommend it more for occasions due to the price rather than everyday lunching but I am grateful for the great experience 😊

Okay so… wow. I’d heard about this place from way too many people not to give it a try, and oh my god, I’m so glad I did. Let’s start with the vibes: the downstairs aesthetic didn’t exactly blow me away at first. But honestly? I kind of love that. It gives hidden gem energy and reminded me not to judge a book by its cover (though hey, I’m only human). Because the food? Absolutely out of this world. I had grilled halloumi, falafel, humous, and an incredible main. Everything was packed with flavour. Like, next-level delicious. I even took leftovers home and I’m hyped for round two. The menu is seriously impressive. So varied, and everything sounds amazing. It’s definitely the kind of place you need to keep going back to just to work your way through all the goodness. And it all tastes super fresh. I’ll 100% be back, and next time I’m heading upstairs because I’ve seen the pics and it looks really cool up there. Keep up the amazing work, you’ve got something special here.

Quite simply the most wonderful food I've found in the area.

It's quite ironic how, as a vegan, I spend a lot of time complaining about places that only offer "falafel and hummus" for vegan options, yet when I come here that's the first thing I order. The falafel is just that good. And the hummus is better than any hummus I've ever had.

My partner and I usually order five different items from the mezze menus and share them with flatbread. The baba ghanouj is a particular favourite. We always go away feeling full but never uncomfortably so.

Also last week when I took my parents, they both had meat dishes and were thrilled with them. My father even claims to have "loved the salad", words that have never previously left his mouth. Astonishing.

My mother had the moussaka and has been urging me to write a review ever since. I quote: "It's much better than the place in Bristol I've been eating at for the last 20 years. I didn't think that was possible."

Highly recommend this place. Great prices, great service, great food. Would eat there every night if we could.

Edit: we returned here again yesterday for the first time since the pandemic. We weren't disappointed. Food as wonderful as ever. Lovely to see the new menus now clearly mark the vegan options. Staff are wonderful and friendly....
