We decided to go to Abys as we have a Taste Card. As usual it says you need to ring before going which I tried to do, numerous times over the course of two afternoons but was unable to get through. Then I tried to book online, but got an email through saying that if our booking was within 24 hours we needed to ring. So I tried again several times to no avail. Because the hotel we were staying at wasn't too far from the restaurant we decided to drive there on our way back from where we were visiting for the day to make a reservation for that night.
First impressions were not great. Half the restaurant resembled more of a warehouse than a restaurant with boxes etc strewn around. But I asked for a menu anyway and then mentioned my Taste card. The man I spoke to didn't have a clue what I was talking about even when I showed them my Taste Card app with their restaurant on it. He went out the back and had a conversation with someone in the kitchen and returned a minute or so later saying no Taste card with no apology. At this point I gave up and left.
If they can't be bothered to answer the phone, can't tidy their restaurant and can't honour their Taste card commitment then I can't be...
Read moreWhen I first moved here in may my orders were here within 30minutes. We also had extra side dishes thrown in which was lovely. As we continued to order, the waiting time became ridiculous (over an hour and 40 minutes ). And no extra free sides. I understand restaurants get busy but… if you went to a restaurant and sat at a table for an hour and 40 minutes waiting for your food you would leave and not go back ! After tonight waiting over an hour and and fourth minutes being told they are busy I shall not be ordering from them again. Especially when the waiting time was estimated to be an hour. Read moreOk first, ambience was nice..apart from that, I ordered regular coke, which was not not cold enough, also it lacked the soda in it, possibly using a Coke having lost his fizz...then I asked about tandoori chicken starter size, as I was not sure which chicken they would be using(small or normal British one) to which he quizzed me like I am eating chicken for the first time.ok then we ordered chicken biryani, to which rice was good, but chicken was literally rubber peices...and to add mattar paneer, in which some pieces were really stale and some pieces were fresh.so in all, not a good food..or might be they have some food which would be good..overall, try to have Indian food...
