AleOli y Tu — Restaurant in England

Fantastic tapas, lovely cosy atmosphere, good service.

Have been meaning to go here for ages, and finally had an opportunity for a family meet up. Plenty of choice, and menu is laid out into columns for meat, veggie, and fish options, so easy to see what's available if you don't eat certain things. My partner and I eat fish but not meat and there was lots of choice for us. I don't recall if there were many vegan options available though. The gambas, and the garlic mushrooms were both amazing though (I thought I cooked with a lot of garlic already, but eating here made me think I should cook with even more!) We ordered 2-3 dishes each, so we could all share, and we had no issue finishing it all off between us, and we also got some churros to share for dessert. We didn't take any photos as we were having too much fun and everything got devoured so quickly!

Tapas dishes came as they were ready, rather than all at the same time, but there was hardly any wait between dishes, and it was a busy evening too (Christmas lights switch on) so the staff did a great job looking after all the tables, and they were friendly and polite.

Highly recommend AleOli y Tú, and we will absolutely go again...

My mum and I passed AleOli y Tu this evening and didn’t give it a second glance and carried on down to the Boat House where we couldn’t be seated for dinner so we just had drinks, as it got later on during the evening we both were hungry and I mentioned about the Spanish restaurant we saw earlier… WELL what a amazing idea it was, we went back to be welcomed by a warm and friendly atmosphere. We sat, we drank and we ate. The staff we cannot fault, friendly like we knew them they made it feel so special to the point we even booked a table for the next evening for the simple reason the food was amazing, the staff were incredible. There is nothing I can fault one little bit - thank you for making my birthday...

It was nice enough. Some of the plates were better than others. The calamari wasn’t very crispy but a bit soggy. We were forgotten about after our mains. We finally asked for two churros and got served one. Churro chocolate sauce was runny and served with canned squirty cream, I would have expected better quality. Upon paying the bill, the server said that service charge wasn’t included and I did say then that we weren’t that happy. The server did ask why but didn’t seem particularly apologetic. After payment went through, my friend pointed out the additional churro was actually added to our bill which the server did then get us a refund for, but we shouldn’t have had to be the ones to point it out....
