Visited yesterday with a friend and my one year old. Food was decent but the visit was completely ruined by the attitude of the waiter and I certainly will not ever come back. Having eaten our meal we sat for quite some time waiting for our plates to be taken and to ask for the bill and couldn't get the attention of any of the staff, once we got the attention of a staff member we got the bill and again sat waiting for someone to come and take payment from us. By this point my little one was starting to get a little impatient as we had been sat for a while waiting to pay so he was feeling a bit fed up and let out a single squeal out of frustration of being stuck waiting when he wanted to leave, immediately one of the waiters came over to us and asked us to leave as they can't have children whinging and squealing etc. I explained to the man we are waiting to pay and leave and have been waiting a while for someone to actually come over and take payment hence why my son was starting to get a bit fed up, the man ignored this and just continued saying that my child is going to upset other customers and cause them to complain and we had to leave the premises immediately etc. To which I said again well if you let us pay we will leave which like I said we have been waiting quite a while to do so if you could just take our payment now then we can leave as we don't even want to be in the premises anymore. The man then left to get a card machine and then came back being overly nice and smiley. The whole encounter was completely unnecessary and made us feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome and the man's whole attitude was really rude and confronting. My child had been good as gold throughout our time there and had only started to whinge due to the fact we had been waiting for so long to pay and leave. We had a nice meal it's just a shame that this particular staff member was so rude and completely let...
Read moreI went here for a bite to eat after noticing through the window the lunchtime menu, this was on a blackboard priced at £10. After entering and being seated I noticed it advertised at two more prices, once on a notice board at the entrance for £10.95 and secondly on the menu that was given to me for £12.95. When a young lad came over to take our drinks order I asked him about the confusion and then to explain about advertisement laws, he told me that the price actually was £10.95. I explained that as it's advertised at a lower price they couldn't do that which he replied "ow, that's old. That's been there ages", I explained he couldn't do that and to see the manager. He was unhelpful and huffing as he didn't like dealing with a customer that wouldn't except the mistake of the establishment and went to get his manager exhausting his breath as he walked away in a mood like a young child would.
He had tried to say before this the manager wasnt working today, so I simply asked for the line/duty manager. When the line/duty manager came he said he only filled in when nobody else was available (meaning he's not actually a manager) and was from the kitchen (obviously from his uniform). He did ask what I wanted him to do, I explain just to honour the advertisement which he seemed happy to do. I did say how rude the waiter was but didn't seem like he could do much
After this though I knew it would be the young lad waiting on us as he seemed to be the only waiter on and felt happier to simply not eat here
Looked lovely inside but staff just didn't seem tried to deal with simple...
Read moreWent for a lunch foursome after a recommendation. Greeted politely and allowed to select our own table. Well lit, airy and clean dining area. First impression, good. Waiter took our order for starters and mains. When asked about a couple of the dishes, he was unable to answer and went away to ask. Two of us wanted the chicken liver parfait and were informed that we could not have it without the onions as it was part of the dish. Slightly puzzled by this as when the dish arrived, the onions were completely separate on the plate. Otherwise, starters were acceptable. When our mains were bought to our table, it had not been cleared of the finished starters which led to a little confusion. After a few moments, we all had our main dishes. But no cutlery. We had to ask for it as it appeared the waiter was not going to fetch any. We had four different mains, most were acceptable, however the gammon and eggs was served with two fried eggs that were overdone and the yolks were solid, just about eatable. Two of our group ordered coffee, and two had tea, to finish. The two coffees were identical orders but very different to drink. All in all, a little disappointed. The staff were very polite and obviously tried to do their best. But we left feeling a little flat, and not encouraged...
