On holiday and looked for restaurants in the area, and very happy with the choice. Absolutely beautiful food. Highly recommend the calamari starter, it was perfectly cooked, light and crispy, well seasoned, and a generous helping. The chicken and mushroom pasta in white wine sauce was particularly delicious, both rich yet still light. And the king prawn linguine was divine. Restaurant is warm and welcoming. Staff were all lovely, and very accommodating to a couple of additional needs. Definitely worth booking a table as it gets very busy in the evening. Saying that the service was still excellent, and orders were taken and food came out quickly. Cocktail menu is great and no issue with my request for an ingredient change. Gets a little noisier as the night goes on but its a popular riverfront spot on a Friday night so thats expected. Slightly more expensive than the average weeknight meal out, but worth every penny for the food and atmosphere in my opinion. Would be a great date-night. Planning on going back before we go home.

The food here was beautifully cooked and you can really tell it was home made. We reserved a table for mother's Day and when we asked whether it was child friendly they really reassured us that it was a family restaurant which was music to our ears. It was exceptionally busy on mother's Day (always a good sign!) but we got seated quickly. Unfortunately even though we reserved a high chair there weren't any available for us l, which was a bit annoying. That being said, as soon as one became available it was given to us straight away and the staff were extremely apologetic. It could probably do with having a few more spare, especially if it is a family restaurant. We would definitely eat here again and would 100% recommend, but I'd advise to book if It's during busy times. The picture of the burger is from the kids menu too! It really was delicious

I came here on Mothers Day with my daughter and it was a wonderful experience. The waiter that met us on arrival said we had had the best seat in the house and he wasn't wrong! A table for two overlooking the trees and river. We had the roast dinner with all the trimmings. Very rare for me as I'm vegetarian and don't always get a roast dinner option. The nut roast was beautiful and plenty of vegetarian gravy too! Apparently a couple had got engaged at our table a week before! Not surprised as its such a beautiful setting. All the staff wonderful, helpful and very friendly. We shared a creme caramel desert as the lunch was so plentiful and we were nicely full. Beautiful food. And to top it all my daughter paid for our lunch as it didn't break the bank! We will come here again when I'm visiting :-)

Visited yesterday with a friend and my one year old. Food was decent but the visit was completely ruined by the attitude of the waiter and I certainly will not ever come back. Having eaten our meal we sat for quite some time waiting for our plates to be taken and to ask for the bill and couldn't get the attention of any of the staff, once we got the attention of a staff member we got the bill and again sat waiting for someone to come and take payment from us. By this point my little one was starting to get a little impatient as we had been sat for a while waiting to pay so he was feeling a bit fed up and let out a single squeal out of frustration of being stuck waiting when he wanted to leave, immediately one of the waiters came over to us and asked us to leave as they can't have children whinging and squealing etc. I explained to the man we are waiting to pay and leave and have been waiting a while for someone to actually come over and take payment hence why my son was starting to get a bit fed up, the man ignored this and just continued saying that my child is going to upset other customers and cause them to complain and we had to leave the premises immediately etc. To which I said again well if you let us pay we will leave which like I said we have been waiting quite a while to do so if you could just take our payment now then we can leave as we don't even want to be in the premises anymore. The man then left to get a card machine and then came back being overly nice and smiley. The whole encounter was completely unnecessary and made us feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome and the man's whole attitude was really rude and confronting. My child had been good as gold throughout our time there and had only started to whinge due to the fact we had been waiting for so long to pay and leave. We had a nice meal it's just a shame that this particular staff member was so rude and completely let...

I went here for a bite to eat after noticing through the window the lunchtime menu, this was on a blackboard priced at £10. After entering and being seated I noticed it advertised at two more prices, once on a notice board at the entrance for £10.95 and secondly on the menu that was given to me for £12.95. When a young lad came over to take our drinks order I asked him about the confusion and then to explain about advertisement laws, he told me that the price actually was £10.95. I explained that as it's advertised at a lower price they couldn't do that which he replied "ow, that's old. That's been there ages", I explained he couldn't do that and to see the manager. He was unhelpful and huffing as he didn't like dealing with a customer that wouldn't except the mistake of the establishment and went to get his manager exhausting his breath as he walked away in a mood like a young child would.

He had tried to say before this the manager wasnt working today, so I simply asked for the line/duty manager. When the line/duty manager came he said he only filled in when nobody else was available (meaning he's not actually a manager) and was from the kitchen (obviously from his uniform). He did ask what I wanted him to do, I explain just to honour the advertisement which he seemed happy to do. I did say how rude the waiter was but didn't seem like he could do much

After this though I knew it would be the young lad waiting on us as he seemed to be the only waiter on and felt happier to simply not eat here

Looked lovely inside but staff just didn't seem tried to deal with simple...

Went for a lunch foursome after a recommendation. Greeted politely and allowed to select our own table. Well lit, airy and clean dining area. First impression, good. Waiter took our order for starters and mains. When asked about a couple of the dishes, he was unable to answer and went away to ask. Two of us wanted the chicken liver parfait and were informed that we could not have it without the onions as it was part of the dish. Slightly puzzled by this as when the dish arrived, the onions were completely separate on the plate. Otherwise, starters were acceptable. When our mains were bought to our table, it had not been cleared of the finished starters which led to a little confusion. After a few moments, we all had our main dishes. But no cutlery. We had to ask for it as it appeared the waiter was not going to fetch any. We had four different mains, most were acceptable, however the gammon and eggs was served with two fried eggs that were overdone and the yolks were solid, just about eatable. Two of our group ordered coffee, and two had tea, to finish. The two coffees were identical orders but very different to drink. All in all, a little disappointed. The staff were very polite and obviously tried to do their best. But we left feeling a little flat, and not encouraged...
