Alfred's — Restaurant in England

My partner and I went out for a friend's birthday, and we had taken the lady's too Alfred's for drinks. However, when we arrived on Saturday night, about 30 minutes in, a young man from behind the bar cut our table and us off!! Accusing us of being too loud, drunk and on something. we were just having a respectful drink. NON of us has ever taken drugs in our lifes. When my friend questioned the young man about his behavior, the manager got involved, and they quickly backed down and apologized. I have autism, and my partner has ADHD with high anxiety, and two of our friends where shocked by the quick judgement of staff. They where laughing at us making us feel uncomfortable and most unwelcome but we were not causing any trouble and felt judged based on our mental health issues. Would we return to Alfred's again? Most likely not. We feel that after many years of loyal service to Alfred's, we have been lost as customers due to this experience. On a positive note, we went to another bar that was very sympathetic to our needs and showed great understanding. Couldn't do enough for us and meeting our abilities. What I was hoping would be a beautiful evening meal with my fiancé soon turned into the worst evening of my life, which is saying a lot because I have spent 10 years in federal prison for a crime I didn't commit.

I ordered the halloumi fritters because I consider myself halloumi's biggest fan - 10 years I went without halloumi while in prison so I take every opportunity I can get to treat my tastebuds. When the 'halloumi' arrived I noticed it was a funny shape, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and had a bite. Immediately I thought 'doth my tastebuds deceive me?' Well doth, they did not. What I tasted instead was dirty horrible stupid mozzarella. MOZZARELLA?! The menu clearly states HALLOUMI so what on earth is this place playing at?

To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I have quit my job, left my fiancé and kicked the kids out. I will spend the rest of my life making sure every person on this earth knows how...

This place is so lovely, but only as a place, It's a nice spot at the heart of Macclesfield. But it deserves only 2 stars because the staff is unfriendly and unexpressed. When I had been there for some drinks with my partner the server didn't allow us to sit because my partner was dressed in tracksuit. It's not her fault I can understand it, that's the policy of the business , but it wasn't busy so I was so comfused and I expected that they wanted more customers and as a consequence more money. At the same time I noticed that some customers were dressed very casual, so it was so weird hearing that we aren't allowed to sit for that reason.
