Antons Pizza — Restaurant in England

A review of this place is long overdue. When I'm taking a break from other favoured takeaways like a Chinese and decide on pizza this is the place I think of. I've had domino's and all the rest but we've been going to Anton's for our pizza for about a decade. I don't often get thin crust but from what I can remember it's still delicious; we usually get deep-pan. A 14" large create your own with a few toppings of our choice and a cheesey garlic bread and cheesey fries was our order on Sunday. We split it all between 3 of us and it was more than enough and came to only £25. Places like domino's are more popular so have these appealing deals and adverts but Anton's despite being a smaller business are still fair. If you spend over £15 and order before 19:30 this entitles you to two free small kids meals that can include either a burger and fries, chicken nuggets and fries or a small pizza and one topping of choice and they usually throw in a free drinks carton too. It may not seem like much to some, but we've certainly always appreciated it. If you go to Anton's in person it's essentially just a unit inbetween other things but that doesn't matter too much, there's ample parking and the place is nice enough inside. The service let's it down because almost all the people who work there, without seeming disrespectful, are a bit miserable especially the tall younger lad whether it's over the phone or in person it's like he doesn't want to be there. We didn't take any pictures because I always forget but it's pizza good enough to have the next day...

Went to Antons last night, not been here for 15 years, I soon remembered why. Standard pizza will bland toppings. I had deep pan and my Mrs had thin crust...both had to be re-cooked at home due to being soggy. I had the Genoa but of the 4 meat toppings I could only taste the Pepperoni. Ordered a "large" fries as "large" is the only option...that just makes it "fries", especially when it fits in a single burger container...not large at all. Can't wait to never go again. To anyone who says this is the best pizza around I feel sorry for your very limited world view. Also not wearing masks, and only sign of social distancing is a piece of cardboard on the floor. I have never been spoken to so atrociously over the phone in my life. The guy told me to look out my window at the weather and asked if I had seen the traffic and that is why my delivery was going to be an hour late. It’s a clear night, no rain (pic attached), my partner has just been out in the car and the traffic is fine, not that that matters as they are less than 2 miles away. He said if I had an issue with timings that I have to take it up with JustEat!!! WHAT??? Customer Service has just disappeared. Don’t you worry “pal” (as he kept calling me), I will be doing and I will be complaining about the way you spoke to me over...
