An average standard of breakfast. Bacon not the best (fatty) but in general not too bad overall. Nice fried bread. The waitress was very pleasant and welcoming. The foreign boy behind the till seemed disinterested, almost verging on rude but not quite. The prices advertised on their website are not the same as being charged. A £5.95 breakfast for example is actually £6.95 which is dissapointing. At the higher price the food I ordered was NOT what I consider to be good value for money. My main issue however, was that upon me being presented with my bill for £6.95, the boy on the till tried to charge me £8.95 on the card machine thinking that I would not have the presence of mind to check! When I questioned him he acted as though it was a simple mistake but to me it seemed obvious that he was trying it on. There was no hint of an apology. As such this, combined with my meal being accompanied by the sound of very loud conversations in a foreign language by the workers there, leaves me to recommend that people consider alternative locations for their dining requirements. #overcharging #fattybacon #speakEnglish #friendlywaitress
Edited to add - the prompt and professional response from the owners below is nice to see. This suggests to me that Cafe Aroma may well be worth a second look for would be diners. They clearly care about their patrons which is all you can really ask for I guess. I have changed my score from 2 to 3 stars as a consequence #reconsidered...
Read moreIt’s the day after Boxing Day and short staffed we waited 45mins for our order to be taken then a further 30 minutes for our drinks along with food to arrive I don’t mind waiting an extended time but this food was awful (this is not a one off I have been three times before but the only place open) I ordered spaghetti bolognaise and a ham and cheese toastie for my grandson both were inedible bearing in mind we had had a long cycle ride so normally I could eat food that was not up to scratch my spaghetti Bol was Served without any sauce and with I presume something to resemble sauce or meat which was dry and powdery no olive oil and parmesan cheese was offered but that didn’t matter I stirred in the powderey substance into the spaghetti tried a fork full but I could not possibly eat it Without going into any detail the Cher’s and ham toastie was on a par Coffee even though we asked for a strong flat white for my wife and I my grandson had banana milk shake which was passable We chose these items as we felt in an Italian restaurant even when busy HOW COULD YOU GET THIS WRONG I paid and when going and the plates were being cleared I said how awful the food was he said he would let the chef know As I was left hungry trying to buy food no point ever going back...
Read moreHello everyone,
I have just relocated to Poole after a marriage breakup and decided it was time I went exploring. I was made very welcome and decided to stay for my lunch. Because of my diet and ingredients of the all day breakfast I asked if I may have 4 eggs scrambled, 2 sausages and 2 slices of bacon. He looked at me and said, you come to me and make your own breakfast menu, OK no problem. I was amazed, usually places will just stick to the menu and not let you deviate hardly at all.
The food came and I have to say was superbly cooked. The eggs for how I like them were just right. I don't like scrambled eggs with battery farmed eggs. And you can always tell. They are pale compared to free range. The sausages were superb, nice thick medium size with lots of flavour. The bacon, well to you it would be perfect, to me, overdone. But, that's my fault and certainly not the cooks. So remember, they are not mind readers, if you like me like your bacon, pink, just cooked, tell them lol. The coffee was lovely, a nice blend and I spoilt myself and had cream with it.
Would I go here again, everyday and twice on a Sunday, superb service and quality.
Michael.
Stay safe, stay well, stay...
