Update Aug 2025 - excellent experience. Staff friendly and astute and southern fried chicken was incredible. It came out so quick too! Happy to now recommended.
In answer to your reply - my original view was definitely about this lounge - I know where I've been! I didn't receive a reply at the time. Staff much better trained now.
Original review in 2022 just after opening: Really disappointing meal which was a shame as we were so looking forward to visiting tonight, having had great experiences at other Lounge venues in Southbourne and Bristol.
There were so many errors but here are a few:
We queried whether there was any non alcoholic cider. The barman tried to offer us Old Mout 4% saying it was "low alcohol" which it really isn't and is a non starter for my girlfriend who doesn't drink. Girlfriend chose mocktail. Barman said he didn't have ingredients at the bar and when he was finally able to get clarification from colleagues 5 minutes later that they were there, he did everything he could to avoid making the drink hinself and asked colleagues to make it instead. Drink took 15 minutes to come and was soo sweet - tasted nothing like the same drink enjoyed in Bristol. We ordered some tapas and steak / frites. Barman brought me steak knife but walked to our table pointing it right at me and cluelessly passed it with blade towards me which was super awkward. Medium rare steak came very much rare. I really didn't have the energy to send it back. Tapas came with a piece of cotton on the top it. Food was underwhelming. It just seemed to lack care and finesse and wasn't a patch on the same meals we've enjoyed at other Lounges. Staff (bar the fromt of house lady who greeted us) just seemed generally a bit clueless and were more interested in chatting amongst themselves rather than putting customers first.
We appreciate this Lounge is still new and finding it's feet as well as the difficulty recruiting quality staff since Brexit, but this really wasn't good enough and A LOT more training and input from management is needed.
It's a shame as we were really looking forward to the lounge coming to Wimborne but it will take a lot for us...
Read moreWe've now eaten in a few of the lounges, around Dorset, my first experience at piazzo was great, halloumi burger was fab and the service great. However each visit after this just seems to have got worse. This time we ordered burgers, which came with fries, first the halloumi burger and chicken burger were both pretty tasty, disappointing when you lift the burger bun and there's the tiniest dot of the 'special' sauce, literally the size of my thumb nail, The fries- I received 7 sweet potato fries, literally, my partner a few more, when I asked the waitress if I could have some more fries she informed me that you get as many as fits in the cups..... Perhaps bigger cups? Last I checked potatoes were the cheapest part of the meal?! She then went to order more fries and quickly returned with the card reader to charge me another almost £5 for another 9 fries......
My 4 year old was told she can't have a children's halloumi burger.... I'm not sure why this would have been an issue? She then recieved a falafel burger with 4 very dry pieces of falafel and absolutely no sauce or anything in the bun, some old beans that had clearly been reheated alot.... I ordered a house salad to try and fill myself up and out came ABIT of lettuce in a tiny bowl with a piece of tomato and a couple bits of onion ...
We don't expect an a la carte 5* meal but we were so disappointed as we've had some really lovely food here and we love...
Read moreI have visited almost all the lounges across Bournemouth and Poole and unfortunately this is the worst one. Firstly, I ordered a flat white and got a cappuccino in a small cup. I politely asked one of the young, female staff if they could re-make it and got a response full of attitude and an awful tone that they weren't the one to make it. This is no way to speak to a customer, especially when it comes to handling a complaint. My second flat white arrived the exact same way, at which point I didn't have the heart to send it back again. This was clearly a training problem - the barista did not seem to know the difference between the different types of coffees. Secondly, our food arrived before the cutlery and no one checked on our food until after we finished eating and they came to clear our plates. Now, I've worked for the Lounges around 4 years ago so I know this is not how things should be done. On the brightside, my partner ordered one of the burgers and it was well made and delicious. However, the 3 small blueberry pancakes were definitely nothing special and not worth the £9 - if they're charging these prices for 3 small pancakes they need to include more fruit or innovate the dish better. Overall, I would not recommend this Lounge to anyone in Wimborne unless it's for a burger (they are very good). There is plenty of amazing, small, local businesses in Wimborne that need our support and offer far better service and food, and most importantly, know how to make...
