I do like this place, and the people are friendly and itâs fine.
But - the team always seem to be rushed off their feet; Iâm not quite sure who is making the coffee and who is serving. When youâve paid they give you the tray to wait at the end for your drinks, as there is only space for ONE person to wait, this forces people to gridlock the ordering section until the one customer has been completed. Theyâve really made the serving area the smallest part - which is odd. The group of people who designed this layout have clearly never worked in a coffee shop; theyâve laid it out to fit in machines and display cabinets, but not to actually serve drinks. When a business has a larger area to take money than it does to provide its goods - theyâve lost their focus.
They never have skimmed milk.
This is a high traffic / high profile area in the centre and they donât have enough people to clear tables.
Pet peeve: (itâs the same in most coffee places) I âhateâ those tall latte glasses - how people donât topple them over when carrying drinks to a table, I...
Read moreAmazing muffins, staff are always friendly and polite when we come here, it is the ultimate stop of point before we start our shopping, sometimes my wife just makes up an excuse to go to Freshney Place, just so she can go for a coffee and muffin. There's always a good selection of muffins on offer with specials appearing through each season. Comfortable seating area either towards the back where it's nice and cool or if you want they have an extended seating area into the centre of the mall under the glass roof and when the sun is shining it adds that bit of warmth, plenty of room to manoeuvre a pram if you've got the little ones in tow. The decor is subtle and shows some of the history of Grimsby and how it's believed how the town got its name. Overall fantastic place. Hense why we...
Read moreI've been here twice. First time very quick service, like I mean I hadn't even paid and my drink was already served. The hot drink was delicious and, in my opinion, affordable. Second time was a bit average. Took a while to get the drinks, two iced mochas, and an overpriced baguette which was nice but definitely not worth £5. The iced mocha had about 8 ice cubes, there's more ice than drink and it didn't taste like a mocha like at all. Just milk with a slight coffee taste. If I'm paying £4 for a drink it should atleast taste like what I'm buying. Other than that, very pretty area that is kept clean with...
