On my last couple of visits to this branch, I have waited 30+ minutes in a queue to be served. I think today was the final straw as staff seemed completely out of their depth, yet also not in any real hurry to move things along. People in the queue were getting fed up and leaving.
The till was mostly abandoned even with a long line of people waiting. When I worked in retail that would have been completely unacceptable. Then when they do serve, there is no acknowledgement of the wait or politeness in the greeting. You just feel as if you are adding to their workload rather than being a paying customer.
If you get there first thing in the morning you can normally get served within 10-15 minutes, but anytime after about 10am and everything grinds to a halt. There seems to be no concept that some people are trying to grab a coffee on their way to work and don't have all day.
It is obvious the staff are very disengaged from their work and really don't want to be there. Honestly, it's quite sad to see. Upper management really need to be investing in their training and teamwork skills. At the minute, nobody is leading or helping them to succeed.
Having worked in customer service myself I know it's not an easy job. But this is no excuse for utterly abysmal service. If you are going to turn up to the job you have to be committed to it.
Costa, you really need to help your main branch in Grimsby if you want to keep your customers. Something just isn't...
Read moreAbsolutely disgraceful, horrible experience. Staff member male “Kai” binned our bag of food while bags were at table. His only excuse could be “shouldn’t have left it there”. While waiting 10 minutes for our 2 drinks. Not even an half proper apology from him. Just stood there. Other staff members modified by his actions. Not sure what he was going to do with the rest of my bags he was walking away with. Bin them as-well ? Absolutely ridiculous.
In other words Claire is a star and a great member to the team. Couldn’t apologise enough for what he did. A credit...
Read moreToday I had lunch at your unit at Lakeside Village, Doncaster. Aside from the fact that I could have read the newspaper through the slice of ham in my Ham and Cheese toastie, the closure mechanisms on the doors appear not to be functioning properly. Every time someone entered or exited the building the doors swung to with an almighty crash. It didn't make for a pleasant experience. The staff seemed not to notice, so I can only assume that the matter has not been...
