First impressions - Sunday 3pm sunny day - empty not surprising. Decor messy not really sure what style didn’t bother with the floor ? Doesn’t seem to know if it’s a cafe, bar or pub and doesn’t really achieve any of those, but place just feels grubby, sticky table. Burger and coke just under £17 so better be good.
Well it looked good and the first bite was somewhat promising. The skin on chips were lovely and hot and the slaw was nice.
Overall the burger was dry and chewy a bit bland and am majorly disappointed. I was really hoping for a juicy burger. (Best burger ever was in Houston Texas (now they know a thing or two about about meat) in a very small burger joint called Cliffy’s 2009 and I’d still pay good money for a burger that good, shame this wasn’t it !! Would I come again ? Not by choice but got a works do here next month (I probably won’t be eating) the menu is erratic and as far as I can tell over priced (based on the meal I just had).
Shame it’s a big place but it’s confused as to what it actually is. Nice outside seating but inside it’s messy and feels too grubby for somewhere that’s just opened, they didn’t bother with new flooring which just adds to the unkept, uncared for surroundings.
Personally I think the menu reeks of “jack of all trades master of none” pick one food style and do it...
Read moreAs loyal customers of the lounge franchise we we’re incredibly dissatisfied with our experience at this location, granted we did arrive during a busy period but by the time we put in our order the space was almost completely empty again yet we received our drinks separately (one being an iced drink which had turned to pure water by the time the rest came out) and food that was half raw and half overcooked. As I stated we are very loyal to the lounge franchise and have attended many all over the country and always had a good experience. But I don’t think this lounge is a fair representation of the brand at all and should certainly be under review especially being so close to where the brand was launched yet lounges in wales hold up the company policies on friendly inviting environments much more efficiently. Lastly I would just like to personally mention the women whom I believe to be one of the managers who has given us the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in a lounge every time we have attended. She even turned my partner and her disabled mother away in the past due to not wanting to clear some of the empty tables. She is consistently in a bad mood and takes it out on the customers. Yours sincerely someone who usually doesn’t bother...
Read moreWe really want to like Barolo Lounge, it offers a good range of options including vegan and gluten free and a number of the staff are very nice. However, our food has been very hit and miss! We often go for the Buddha Bowl and 90% of the time it was one of more elements listed on the menu missing, usually this is rectified if you mention but there's also been a number of occasions where they don't have it available (and don't offer a substitution). The portion sizes of the buddha bowl also seem to vary considerably. We had a good experience with the Beyond Burger at another branch so we decided to go for that on our last visit. The burger was undercooked (but edible), the salad was some rocket that had gone off with a bit of salsa mixed into it. The rocket was so bad (it has a kind of fishy smell when it goes off!) that my husband went off his meal and requested a refund. The chips looked refried/ overcooked, overly oily. I would expect better for the price you pay, especially when compared to the excellent food we've had at other branches. Very...
