The Cow & Apple is Phenomenal. I visited with a group of 4 for dinner, never having tried this place out before, wondering what all the rage was about. It lived up to everything my friends had told me.
There is a sizeable yet concise and fun menu that offers classic burgers, and some more exotic options with room for extra pattys and fillings for that little bit extra. I ordered a Combine Burger which was one of their cheaper options, along with a Premium Cider since cider is their other speciality.
You order food at the bar when you are ready and the lovely staff will let the kitchen team know what you want asap and get your drinks prepared. Service was great and really fast too. None of my group had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for all our food to arrive and it was all piping hot.
The quality of the meat is incredible since it is sourced from a local trusted farm and prepared by chefs who know what they are up to. Combining that with all the other flavours in the burger made for one hell of a feast. With a side of rustic fries to go along side and a cider in hand, the meal I had was not one to be forgotten.
I would definitely return here in the future and love to try some of the other options this place serve. If you live in or are nearby to the Yeovil area, definitely give this place a try and dont sleep on...
Read moreIt's in a great location, the menu choices are great and the special meal deal price on a Wednesday is great. Loads of ciders to choose from but I'm not a big drinker so not tried them all. However the seating really isn't at all comfortable and sadly as we were such a big party despite us submitting our order before we arrived they were understaffed and not really prepared to cope with a big order all at once. When my food arrived sadly it was like warm si I was very disappointed. I didn't complain because it was a works leaving do and I didn't want to spoil their night, plus everyone was having a good time in spite of the slow service and cold main courses. I believe the states were well received and hot but then not everyone had a starter. I will have to go in a smaller group to try it again. However if my food is cold then, I would definitely complain and then never set foot in there again. On the plus side the staff are friendly and I think they tired their best, sadly it wsdnt good enough. If I had to rate as a food inspector I would only give...
Read moreWent there once before. Food was decent, if overpriced for what it was. We went again today and asked before sitting if they had a vegan gluten-free option, I was told that yes, they had a falafel burger and gluten free buns, uninspired but ok. When we sat down to give our order, I was told that the gluten-free bun was not vegan, so I had to have a falafel burger salad. The falafel burger was undercooked, lukewarm, bland, generally inedible and unpleasant. Truly if a café wants to offer a vegan option or two, they should put some thought and effort into it to offer something tasty, not an afterthought "just to accommodate" people with different dietary requirements. I would have preferred if they’d told me they didn’t offer such an option. One of the serving staff was courteous, the other one not so much. If you eat meat and you don't mind poor presentation, uncomfortable seating with hit and miss service, then you might like it. If you don't eat meat, I recommend you avoid. There are other places that cater to vegans and are happy...
