Our familiarity with Cornwall extended to the lid of an ice cream tub. That's when we turned the corner and parked next to Belushis.. going around the back, we passed at a windy and open deck with few tables out. Reopening post covid the pub has one way path drawing you into the bar with sanitisation stations along the way. We had the last table without a reservation. The interiors were trendy but a dated.. relaxed atmosphere not trying too hard. You have to line up at the till and pre pay for any orders. Drinks took about 10 minutes to show.. food atleast 45... we just missed happy hour at 7 pm but got a standard fare of lagers and ciders with a couple local options. For food we ordered the buddha bowl which was delightful and raw. The chickless burger however was a bit plain and had to be sent back before returning with all listed ingredients. The cauliflower wings was disappointing. There were no condiments served with our food and apparently they had run out of ketchup. All in all we had an underwhelming experience specially because of slow service and food quality but much of this could be because of covid. We appreciated how they effectively had easy to follow protocols post covid. Hoping it gets better from here.

This was our second highly anticipated visit and what a let down it was. On arrival no one welcome us, so after waiting around we decided to find ourselves a table. We then asked the waitress if we can choose this table and she said yes no problem she’ll be back to clear the rest of the table as she took the plates away. We stood around for near on 10 minutes waiting, until my partner decided to clear the rest of the table, wipe the table down and clean the floor of food as we had our dog with us. It wasn’t table service so we went to the bar and ordered. We were not made aware of the 241 cocktail deal so we had paid full price and only received 1 cocktail, to which we realised this on departure. When our food arrived, the same waitress brought it out who was on the phone. No recognition of us sorting the table ourselves. The food was as good as we remembered. We had a lovely sea view, however the music did not need to be as loud as it was and unfortunately the service was diabolical. Great burgers but not great service.

Wasn't overly impressed with this place considering I'd heard such great things about it. Stopped by for a couple of pints in the day which was good, decent atmosphere outside in the sun. So decided to go back on the evening for food. My girlfriends Quesadillas contained hardly any chicken & were full of cheese sauce!! I went for the "suicide" wings which were incredibly tame if I'm honest & New Yorker burger which was well presented but they definitely over did it on the American mustard and forgot the pastrami. Sweet potato fries were very good, though. Our waitress was very friendly & well mannered & she got us a great table by the window which overlooks the sea. I'd come again maybe just for drinks, I'd give the food a wide birth unless I was starving!!

We visited Belushies with our 2 children today and I think it’s the worst experience we have ever had eating out.

We ordered Cokes, but they tasted strange, so I politely asked a member of staff (Nathan) whether it was real Coke or Diet. His response was unnecessarily aggressive and inappropriate: “Because it tastes shit? Sorry about that,” and he walked off.

When he walked past again, I said, “Excuse me, why were you so dismissive? I wasn’t being rude, I just asked a question.” He responded, “I’m busy, I have other things to do,” and walked off again. His manner was abrupt, aggressive, and totally uncalled for.

We told another member of bar staff who was much more professional. He listened, apologised on behalf of his colleague, and agreed the behaviour wasn’t acceptable. He kindly went to get the manager.

Unfortunately, the manager only made things worse. She didn’t apologise or take any responsibility at all. She treated us as though we were the problem, saying she would refund the food but not the drinks. We explained that we were leaving the drinks and would like a full refund. She did eventually agree, but with a rude and dismissive attitude and still no apology. My husband said that their customer service was awful and she said ‘please leave’ as if we were the issue.

To make matters worse, the menu clearly listed Coca-Cola, but the manager later told us it wasn’t Coca-Cola at all, as if that was our fault. That’s not only misleading, it feels dishonest.

This experience was particularly upsetting for us because we were there with our autistic son and our young daughter , who both found the confrontation and tone of the staff member very distressing. What should have been a simple, polite question turned into an unnecessarily stressful and uncomfortable situation.

We left feeling unwelcome and disrespected. Based on this experience, we will not be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others especially anyone who expects basic courtesy, honesty, or...

This looks to be a very popular place in Newquay, the primarily reason is the view, which is absolutely breath-taking, which must be the reason the place is so popular (book in advance to avoid being disappointed).

Unfortunately, as it's so popular you can tell that the customer service and food really suffer.

I don't know how to describe the general atmosphere in there, it's just one of those places and you go and you get that feeling that the staff really hate their customers. I was sat just having a beer and a burger, in that time I saw three separate groups of people on other tables raise relatively minor issues that escalated to either an argument, being refused service, or asked to leave. It looked to me the staff liked winding people up so theycould get them to leave.

I was online there one time for a few hours so it may be an anomaly, but it did seem cultural.

The food was half decent, nothing to write home about, and it was definitely over priced, as I mentioned at the beginning, you are paying for the view not the service or food.

Oh, another thing while I am here, that's absolutely ridiculous, there is an App you have to use to order food, make sure you download this before arriving, the wi-fi and 4G is absolutely diabolical, it took me 30 minutes to download the app. They let you order at the bar, but that takes just as long as they are relying on the App (read that as huge queue), then you have to walk all the way round the building to get back o your seat.; absolutely makes no sense.

Advice to Belusi's Try to be nice to your customers. Work on the food quality control. Work on your process to make the place...

Just had the absolute worst experience here. Ordered some salads and chips, and food was taking quite awhile while other tables got their food that sat after us. Went to the bar to ask and was condescendingly told it was taking awhile because of a larger group, which was a lie because a minute later they brought the food which clearly had been sitting out unattended. The salads were swimming in the worst dressing you’ve ever tried and the fries were cold.

Brought the salads in to let them know they were inedible (tasted like spoonfuls of dressing) and the woman (I believe the manager) told me that that is how they come, and they couldn’t do anything to help me. I was even willing to pay the £3 difference for something else, but she declined. She repeated that she could not do anything because this is how they are normally made.

Essentially, they made me pay £20 for two of the worst salads you could ever imagine, despite my spending over £100 at the same place the day before on drinks and dinner, and planning to spend about the same each evening for the rest of my 5 day trip.

Throughout this encounter, the staff could not have cared less about making things right, and just tried to put the blame on me about the situation. They also make you pay before you even see the food so by the time you get it they just blame you if you don’t like it.

If you want to be treated like garbage rather than a paying customer, this place is perfect for you.

EDIT: the business replied to me and said to get in contact with them, but the phone line doesn’t work anymore and they won’t...
