Big Bamboo Lounge — Restaurant in England

As another earlier review states - it's ok... I ordered Bamboo Crispy Chicken (salt and pepper) with noodles instead of rice to take away and, whilst the Chicken was tasty, the noodles were dry and the veg, which there wasn't much of, was bland and texture-less. I ordered over the phone so that I could go and pick up my food once it was ready, however the lady who had taken my order didn't put it through on their system meaning once I had arrived, the food was yet to be cooked so I had to wait - exactly what I was trying to avoid by making a phone order in the first place. Another issue are the prices with the new menu. For the quality of the food and service that I received, I definitely wouldn't pay the price again. It cost around £11 for a small half-full box of noodles with 6 pieces of chicken and some overcooked veg. I could have spent around the same price or less at a local Chinese takeaway (my favourite being Welcome on lister street) on a portion of salt and pepper chicken and a portion of chow mein noodles and received a lot more food of better quality. Lovely restaurant, really welcoming, clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately we had forgotten about this place and haven't been for quite a while, we wanted lunch before the train and happened to park outside so we popped in, the menu is still exciting and different, I chose Korean panini and hubby had the special burrito, I really wished I'd got the burrito as well, it was absolutely delicious and a huge portion, nothing wrong with my choice but I preferred his 😆.... We'll definitely be back to try the rest...

Wow! First time at this gem of a place in the middle of town. A lovely space, great decor and nice and cosy. The menu is varied and extensive (which can be veganised for lots of dishes) and the food and drinks we tried were delicious. Staff were helpful and friendly and service, spot on. With takeaway available too, we'll definitely be coming back to the Big Bamboo. Supporting local business is so important and this one is highly recommended. We'll...
