Stopped twice this month as we booked Friday and Saturday on the market and saved ourselves the journey home by stopped in this friendly family pub. Prefer this to a standardised chain of hotels with boring rooms lacking any personality. Could get used to reclining on a chaise long like in one of the rooms. Because it's family run that's what you feel like so on our 3rd visit we asked for our "usual" at the bar and got it. Read morePopped in to the bar hoping to catch the footie on the TV. Was told no as 3 people in the pub were watching the darts, and they only had one signal for the 2 tvs. Decided on a quick drink. Got a g&t. Went back to the bar to ask for some lime for it. Bar tender got the cordial out. Do you really need to explain the concept of a bit of fruit for your drink? I got looked at like I had 2 heads. Then advised cash only. Good job I had some. The dart watching regulars left soon after having completely ignored the TV.
