I found this little café last summer and was blown away firstly by how fresh and good the food was but also how good the owner was at adapting an order to suit the customer without any grumbling or moaning. Having got to know them I asked if it might be possible to take in with me two rescued, very noisy & reactive little Dachshunds I rescued six months ago. They've not been trained, socialised or schooled AT ALL and shout continually. Of course, they won't get better unless I'm able to get them out and get someone onside to brave the onslaught. The owner didn't think twice about it. He immediately encouraged me and assured me we could make it work, knowing the disastrous possibilities. I took them in for the first time today and although somewhat reactive, it went better than I expected and I know it will get better each time we do it. I just want to really thank the owner for his kindness, patience and understanding. Oh, and the coffee and cakes are great too!!!...
Read moreVisited recently without realising there had been a change in ownership. Unfortunately itâs now a far cry from the quality of food or cute/cosy atmosphere that Bonjour used to be. We had bacon and avocado toasties which I was shocked to see being prepared on the front counter using store bought sliced bread and then put in one of the toastie makers that squash down the edges. This meant the avocado was hot (bizarre) and altogether the sandwich had very little flavour. The bacon was also extremely fatty and wet. The pot of tea seemed strangely grey in colour but tasted fine. The coffee cake was ok, if a little dry. If Iâd been going in with the expectations of a breakfast diner/low-end sandwich bar then I wouldnât have been so shocked, but following what this cafe used to be it was a real shame. The service was attentive and friendly (hence two stars instead of one) but I wouldnât recommend based on the quality of the food and there being far better options...
