Boswells Café — Restaurant in England

Great family visit to Boswell's yesterday, food was great and staff were fantastic.

Lady that helped us was attentive, accommodating and extremely friendly. She went out of her way to make food suggestions to help us order for our very fussy 2 year old and then when I asked she was more than happy to help with a bowl of cold water to cool our baby's bottle down.

Food came out fast and the coffee was great, one slight issue I had was that the toilets were not very well maintained, were a little grubby and had seen better days. It's a shame as the rest of the cafe was clean and well decorated, It seems the toilets are forgotten about.

Visited today 12/04/2025 with my other half was greeted with a friendly smile ordered 2 breakfasts 1 was gluten free when they arrived at the table I was told by a very friendly young man that he couldn't guarantee the chips were gluten free as they use the chip fryer to cook other things when I told him I couldn't eat the chips as I would be ill he took it away and I was given another breakfast but with gluten free toast I cannot fault any of the staff they are all very friendly and the breakfasts were very tasty well done Boswells cafe but you do need to take the chips off the gluten free breakfast and swap it for toast other than that all is...

We stopped here on a Saturday for a spot of brunch. I was tempted by the description of the bacon and cheese baguette which said something like "Bacon topped with melted cheddar" but was bacon (not very warm) with a cheddar slice, not the bacon topped with melting grated cheese that I had imagined. My wife had a Bacon and Brie panini. The contents were ok but she was disappointed to get it in a baguette that had been toasted rather than a proper panini roll. Tea and Cappuccino were fine.
